Story
Dane is a stunning blue merle great dane mix. He is about 8 months old and great with dogs of all sizes and with cats. He was rescued from a small rural shelter where he was slated to be euthanized due to time and space. He is a chill dude who likes to nap, go on walks and hang with his friends. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue(copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Hello Future Family!! My name is DESIREE and I am a lovable 4 year old AKC registered Great Dane. I came into the rescue a very skinny girl but I have filled out nicely with the wonderful meals I have received. I am looking for my forever family - my foster parents love me but they said they have many doggies that need their help too. I love affection and laps, stuffed toys and my Nyla bones. I don't hate other dogs but my foster mom said I would be best as an only dog because I get jealous - sorry we all have our hang-ups. I am crate trained, house trained and extremely loving. Please send an email to my foster mom @ Sbanimalrescue@yahoo.com and tell her you have a soft spot for a big mush like me - I am waiting for you. Applications can be found on our website www.starbrightanimalrescue.org or please e-mail sbanimalrescue@yahoo.com for an application for DESIREE. We try to respond to ALL inquiries so, please check your junk mailbox if, you're waiting to hear from us.

Story
This is Snickers, the gentle easy going 5-year-old Great Dane and Poodle mix that is ready to steal your heart and maybe a few squeaky balls along the way! Weighing in at 123 pounds, making him a giant-sized dog. (yes, he is a big guy, and he is all love). Snickers was a beloved family pet whose owners realized they could not give him the attention he deserves due to job changes and increasing family demands.Snickers is a calm, submissive and low-keyed buddy who has mastered the art of being a relaxed companion. Snickers enjoys being with other dogs, but due to his size, a household with older children may be best. Snickers has not had the opportunity to meet any cats, so it is unknown how he will be with them.Snickers is house and crate trained. It is important to remember that although Snickers is house trained, accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. Snickers already knows his come, sit, down, stay and shake paws. He is basically a four-star pup with a few tricks up his sleeve. He loves being brushed (his version of a spa day) and water (who does not like a good splash?). Snickers leash training is in process, and he would benefit from continuing this important training. If you are looking for a big loveable goofball, who is more about cuddles than chaos, Snickers may be your new best friend. Come and meet him and see if he is the right fit for your family!* Please keep in mind when considering adoption, dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust significantly better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Snickers is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.December 7, 2025, 6:07 am

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.12/5/25 Adoption fee waived! Needs a home or new foster! In Arkansas, but can transport to New England area. Tango is a big, young Great Dane mix. He is a wonderful dog with a gentle demeanor. He is amazing with kids, as well as other dogs. He was adopted from us as a young puppy, and his family absolutely adored him. His family, which included a little boy around 4-5 years old, did a fantastic job raising him. They trained him and gave him everything he needed to be the best boy. Sadly, the little boy and the dad of the family developed a severe allergy to dogs. It was so bad that dad ended up in the hospital. So they had to surrender Tango back to us. Since then he has been in a foster home. He's OK, but hes confused and sad and is experiencing some anxiety, understandably. He just wants to be with people, but in his current foster situation he has to be crated a lot of the time. This is hard on him because he did not have to be crated in his former home. He isn't destructive and is honestly just such a good dog. But due to other dogs in the foster home, this is the best we can do. Tango really needs a home of his own where he can devote himself to truly loving his people again, and can be part of the family. He is 2 years old and weighs about 95 lbs. But he has been taught from early on to be gentle. His favorite person in the world was his 'little brother' and he was so good with him. His heart is broken right now because he doesn't understand why he's not with his family any more. Please help us heal his heart. He needs a new foster home where he can be allowed more freedom in the home, or he needs an adopter who will love him and help him heal from this heart break. We will waive his adoption fee for the right home. Please share. Located in Arkansas. He can be adopted locally, but transport is available to the New England area as well. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NY, or CT on Saturdays. To apply to adopt Tango, please click the link. https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Story
Meet Misty! She's a smart lady who is smart as a whip! She's crate trained, mastered many commands (sit, down, off, mat, enough, go to your room, here, all done- more than most kids :). She loves to run, play fetch and be wherever you are! She's a year and a half old, and was lucky enough to have professional training donated to help her find her forever home. Whoever adopts her will receive at least one free hand off session from her trainer to help her transition go perfectly! Her ideal family would be somewhat active (she needs to run around a yard at least a few times per day). She gets along well with other dogs, but calmer dogs are best. Misty loves to play, but she can get very excited if the other dog is too energetic! She would do well with older children. Younger children and cats would require a lot of supervision. Her trainer thinks she would be a great agility dog, but she is smart enough to do anything you want to train her to do! She will require some active parenting to teach her the rules of your house, because she is so smart, she may try to make her own activities if nothing fun is provided! She's potty trained now (we had some overnight accidents until she started going in her crate at night). She's a great dog with a good head on her shoulders, and she wants to know if you are the one for her! $200 In State Adoption Fee (in Texas) $400 Out of State Fee (includes Transportation to your area) $50 Temporary fuel surcharge.
