Duke came in as a stray that was never claimed. He appears to be a Dane mix born March 2025. He is a tall lean goofy guy who already weighs 77 lbs and he still has some growing to do. Duke is good natured and likes to ride in the car. He is energetic and sweet and likes to walk on a leash, but still needs some work on not pulling. Duke is a great dog - and he will be a great big dog some day soon. He would make an awesome addition to a family that has the room for Duke to be himself. All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only.
