Story
Rowan is a male Great Dane mix.Rowan is a goofy, outgoing guy with a big personality and an even bigger heart! He is all about the playtime and the snuggles. His long legs keep him on the move and he's all about the zoomies! The backyard is his personal racetrack! He also loves playing ball - so long as you don't actually expect him to fetch it back to you. We suspect that's just his sense of humor. He loves to just hang out with you and keep close to your side. In fact, he feels better with you close and knowing he's safe with you by his side. This big, gentle boy will look to you for direction, and will appreciate all the attention you can lavish on him. Rowan would do well in a home with older children, with cats with in the home and possibly with another dog-friendly dog.To apply for this pet on Adopets, click the Adopt Me button below their profile picture. *Name: Duke *Age: 5 years old  *Current Weight: 120 lbs  *Adoption fee: $400 Meet Duke – Your Gentle Giant! If you've always dreamed of sharing your life with a Great Dane, Duke is ready to make that dream come true! This handsome boy is everything people love about the breed—fun-loving, affectionate, goofy, and happiest when he's with his people. Duke gets along well with other dogs and even cats, making him a wonderful addition to a home with furry siblings. Because of his size and playful nature, he'd do best with older kids who can keep up with his giant-hearted enthusiasm. Duke has already undergone a gastropexy surgery, helping reduce his risk of gastric torsion (bloat), so he's ready to focus on what really matters—finding the loving family he's been waiting for. Whether he's making you laugh with his silly antics, leaning in for one of those classic Great Dane hugs, or stretching out for a well-earned nap, Duke is guaranteed to fill your home with love, laughter, and plenty of oversized cuddles. Could Duke be the gentle giant you've been searching for? Apply today and come meet your new best friend! Story
Major: 130 Pounds of Gentle Giant Love   Great Dane • 1½ years old • 130 pounds • Available the week of July 20   Major nearly lost his life for one heartbreaking reason: his landlord said he had to go, and his owner simply accepted that he would be euthanized.   Thankfully, a Nashville firefighter heard what was happening and stepped in to save him.   Since then, Major has been thriving in a foster home with four other dogs of different ages and temperaments. He has shown himself to be a remarkably sweet, curious, and adaptable young dog. He quickly learned to use the dog door, enjoys trips to the dog park, and handles new people, sounds, and surroundings with confidence.   At 1½ years old, Major still has a playful, youthful spirit, but he is mature enough to settle easily into a new routine. He is friendly, affectionate, and gentle—the kind of dog whose enormous heart matches his enormous paws.   Major is scheduled for surgery next week and should be ready for adoption the week of July 20. He is looking for a family that understands giant breeds and will give him the security and lifelong commitment he almost lost.   Major did not deserve to die because someone decided he was inconvenient. He deserves a home where he will be treasured for the truly special dog he is.   About Critter Cavalry Rescue:We’re a Middle Tennessee-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to saving high-risk homeless animals. Story
Roo is a 2–3 year old Blue Merle Great Dane adult who weighs 85 pounds and was found abandoned by a well-known lake in Tennessee.  Someone rescued her from this terrible fate of no food or clean water and no place to be as she was wandering around the lake area very skinny and starved.  She was so grateful when someone took her home.  She then had different people foster her only for a few days at a time until this wonderful family saw her plight and need and said.....let us take her and foster her with a good rescue group.  Now this big girl named Roo has some stability in her life and has earned the nickname “Velcro dog.”  Of course this lost and abandoned girl who was deserted by a lake and then bounced a few times, wants to be right by your side and soak up every ounce of love and attention you’re willing to give her.  She will learn one day that noone is ever going to abandon her again.  This athletic girl has plenty of energy, loves to play with a happy spirit and and is an impressive olympic class jumper. She will thrive best in an active home.  Food definitely motivates her and this makes it super easy to train her and get her undivided attention. Roo is house-trained, crate-trained, cat-friendly, and absolutely loves to snuggle in the bed with her humans.    Roo bonds quickly and becomes very protective of her people so we will have tips on how to temper that zealous enthusiasm to claim you. She needs a family where she can be the queen of the castle and receive endless love and attention in return. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will stick by you through everything, Roo is your girl!       Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  She is currently fostered in Tennessee and can be adopted locally and also can transport to a loving family that is northeast of Tennessee.  We transport almost weekly on the weekends.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 18, 2026, 5:22 pm
