Story
To my future owner, My name is Boone and I am a two year old neutered Asian shepherd mix. I have been living with my family since I was a little puppy. I love them so much, but sometimes I get very protective over my human children with their friends. This makes my Mom and Dad nervous, and they have decided to re-home me. I am going to be super sad without them and I am a really good dog and wish I could stay. I am completely house-trained so I don’t need to be in a crate. I am pretty lazy and I love being a couch potato and going to bed early. My favorite place is the beach and going on car rides.  I will make a great hiking buddy and love playing with other dogs.   I get scared of loud noises like thunder and fireworks, and that crazy vacuum creature. I am a little bit of a baby when it comes to going out in the rain and taking baths, so not so thrilled about water.   Please give me a chance and I’m sure you’ll love me as much as I will love you.

Story
This handsome boy was picked up running at large and based on Facebook posts it was about his third or fourth offense, but no one claimed him. We are guessing that he was a failure at being a livestock guardian because he’s way too social. He’s always wanting to visit someone new. Charlie is a little over a year old and weighs 121 lbs. He was very thin when he first came to us but is now at his perfect weight. He is neutered, up to date on required vaccines, microchipped and heartworm tested negative. He’s house trained and he loves other dogs, but he is a big guy. He also will require a tall fence, and you will have to keep an eye on him because again he likes to visit new people. He also has an obsession with deer! For that reason, a privacy fence would be ideal if you have deer around your home. He’s affectionate and likes to lean on you. He is learning commands like sit and stay and he really tries to please! This is what his foster mom says about him " Charlie is amazing. He is housebroken, loves to be hugged, hasn’t chewed anything up, likes to play but is content just to chill. He walks beautifully on a leash and likes to say hi to everyone he meets. Charlie enjoys sitting and looking out the window, hanging around in the kitchen especially when I’m cooking and going for car rides". Although this breed is known for having a stubborn streak, Charlie seems to understand a few commands wait, it’s ok, no, come, let’s go and he will even sit for a treat. But his favorite is Good Boy Charlie❤️" This guy would be a great dog for an active loving family. He’s so sweet! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out Our Video Album Below! *** Meet Sweetie Pie and Ralphie, an adorable bonded pair looking for their forever home together! These two delightful pups are fully housebroken and know basic commands like "sit," "stay," and "outside," plus they walk beautifully on leash. They absolutely love playing together both indoors and out, and while Sweetie Pie has a bit more energy, they both enjoy long walks and running around in the yard. A 4-foot fence works perfectly for them, and they're both fantastic in the car and absolutely love the snow! When it comes to meeting new people, Sweetie Pie is an instant snuggle buddy who would happily be petted all day long and loves being a "leaner" who always wants to be touching someone, while Ralphie is a big teddy bear who may bark initially when someone enters the house but quickly warms up and loves to give hugs and his signature Pyr Paw. Both dogs are amazing with young children, and got tons of love from middle schoolers at a football game, so they'd do wonderfully in a family setting. While Ralphie prefers that other dogs don't come into the house, both are perfectly fine with dogs they meet on walks or outings. These two love their bones, with Ralphie especially enjoying his rope and duck toys, and they both go crazy for bacon and cheese treats! Sweetie Pie has the cutest habit of sleeping on her back and would happily lounge on the couch with you all day, while Ralphie is quite the talker (you'd think he's part husky!) and loves laying at your feet as your loyal companion. The ideal home for this wonderful pair would include a yard where they can run and play together, and they'd be thrilled to be your forever friends who shower you with love, snuggles, and plenty of joyful moments! National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. We have many Pyrs and Pyr mixes who need homes.
