Story
Meet Wesley, who comes to us from the Cabarrus County Animal Shelter. Wesley is a 1-year-old, 55 lb., Great Dane mix. He is such a loving boy, good with other dogs, and is extremely affectionate with kids. Wesley is housebroken, crate trained, loves to play, is good on outdoor recall off leash, loves to snuggle, and is overall very well behaved. He shows no signs of aggression. Wesley is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and is thriving in his foster home. Because he is so good with other dogs, he would do best in a home with other fur siblings. If you would like to meet Wesley, please reach out to us for an application.

Story
Meet Brutus, who comes to us as an owner surrender. His previous family was no longer able to keep him due to a move. Brutus is a stunning 10-month, 65 lb., Blue Great Dane. At first, Brutus is shy around new folks but just hang out for a bit and his goofy, snuggly side will shine through. Brutus is housetrained, crate trained and very treat motivated. He gets along well with dogs and cats alike, loves strolling around the block, frolicking in the yard, and will even solicit head scratches and attention. He is working on his leash manners to control minimal pulling and basic commands; he’s making progress with both. Brutus is up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped, and his adoption fee will include his neuter when he becomes of age. If you are interested in meeting this gorgeous boy, please reach out to us for an application.

Story
Diesel is a sweet older Great Dane mix dog.  His vet estimated birth date is 2017.  He weighs 77 pounds.  He'd love taking walks and then coming home to nap at your feet.  He can be a little iffy with other dogs, so he'd probably do best as an only dog, or you would need to do a very slow introduction if you have other dogs.  Diesel walks well on a leash. ~Adoption donation $200 . All vetting is up to date. Microchipped and neutered. Also on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Story
It breaks my heart to make this post, but my 7-year-old Great Dane/Albino Pit mix is looking for a specific kind of forever home. He is the definition of a "gentle giant"—calm, sweet, and incredibly loyal. Because he has so much love to give, he truly thrives when he’s the "only child." He’s looking for a one-dog household where he can be the center of your world. The Essentials: • Age: 7 years (the perfect mellow adult age!) • Health: Neutered, microchipped, and fully UTD on vaccines. He takes Reconcile and Traazedone for his anxiety. • Ideal Match: Someone with large-breed experience who understands the "velcro dog" nature of Danes and Pits. My priority is his happiness and safety. If you have room in your heart (and on your couch) for a devoted companion, please message me.

This boy is already housebroken, crate trained and gets along great with other dogs. We are looking for a home for this small horse (approximately 110 lbs.) that has previous giant breed experience and does not have young children in the home. Tito loves car rides, attention and enjoying the finer things in life like a comfortable afternoon nap. Story
Meet Koa! This handsome 11-month-old Great Dane is all heart, all legs, and ALL teenage energy. Koa came to us when his college-student owner realized she didn’t have the time to give him the consistency he deserves. With lots of travel and bouncing between Rover stays, family, and friends, Koa hasn’t had much structure in his young life — but he’s soaking it up beautifully in his foster home. Like many adolescent Danes, Koa is in that “bratty teenager” phase. He’s sweet as can be, affectionate, and eager to please — he just needs guidance polishing those manners. The good news? He already knows sit and down, is crate trained, house trained, rides wonderfully in the car, and responds well to direction. He’s smart and ready to learn! Koa gets SUPER excited to see other dogs. He hasn’t had much experience, so his greeting style is best described as… enthusiastic He’s not aggressive in any way — just big, bouncy, and a little over-zealous. If another confident dog tells him “no thank you,” he’s very respectful. But if a dog runs? Well… he thinks it’s playtime! We’re actively working on his social skills and he’s making progress. He also LOVES toys and will happily entertain himself (or you!) with a good play session. After he burns off that puppy energy, he’s a total cuddle bug. &#226&#156&#168 Koa’s perfect home: Active family committed to continuing his training Giant breed experience required A securely fenced yard where he can safely zoom and stretch those long legs Koa is a wonderful young Dane who just needs structure, consistency, and a family ready to guide him into the amazing adult dog he’s going to be. If you’re ready to give this sweet, goofy boy the forever home he deserves, please email info@greatdanefriends.com . Let’s help Koa find his perfect match! *****Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love covers NC and surrounding states for adoptions. We require a fenced yard (exceptions made on a case by case basis - NO exceptions for puppies or deaf/vision impaired dogs - no invisible fencing), that stairs in the home be covered with some sort of slip resistant material to prevent injury, that all other animals in the home be up to date on vaccinations as well as spayed/neutered and that all dogs live inside as a part of the family. Our approval process consists of an application, vet and reference checks, phone interview and house check. Please email us for an application or if you have any questions.*****   March 19, 2026, 6:46 pm
