Story
I picked up Bruce when he was 5 weeks old. While I grew up with dogs my entire life, he truly was my first dog that I bought with my own money and was my sole responsibility. I had always wanted a Great Dane, and even with this post I still love the breed (and him) very much. The only reason I'm making this post is because I now have 2 young children under the age of 5, with a 3rd on the way, and we are going to move during the summertime. Bruce is almost 10 years old and while that is on the older side of life for a Great Dane, he still seems to have some good years remaining physically. The problem lies more in his mental health. He has some pretty significant anxiety and what my wife and I assume to be early signs of dementia. We don't believe he's at the point where he needs to be put down, he just needs a home that can love on him and be patient with his anxieties in a way that we just can't with our split attentions at this stage in life.

Story
This sweet dog was abandoned at a construction site. We chose to give him an home after the people who found him had checked all the vets and shelters in the area hoping to find his owner. We could tell he had some training, and were certain his owners would be looking for him. Sadly that was not the case for him, but for us it was a win. Unfortunately due to some changes in our health, it is in his best interest to re-home him. He is a sweet boy, and very lovable! He is very social, and thinks he is a lap dog. He is crate trained and he would be re-homed with his condo sized crate, toys, collars, leashes etc. we do not table feed, and per the vet we have him on Purina Pro Plan Diet. He LOVES to ride in car! He likes to take walks, and be outside. However he likes to sleep indoors by the side of our bed. We do not allow him on any furniture, and we have never had an issue with it. He knows his commands sit, down, back,/and stay (he can sometimes get a bit wiggly on stay) LOL

He’s a bit of a hoarder, lovingly collecting toys, towels, shoes—anything he can get his paws on—into a treasure pile of his very own. And crinkly toys? Gone are the days of retreating to his crate; now, he’s content to lay on the floor, soaking up the family vibes. He’s a champ with older, respectful children and a gentle giant around toddlers. Cats? He’ll happily coexist. Other pups? They’re his playmates. To keep his hoarding and dumpster diving in check, Wilson is crated when unsupervised. He’s a pro on the leash and has impeccable house manners, though car rides aren’t his favorite—yet he’s showing great potential to become a road-tripping buddy.
