Story
Ziggy is a pyrenees/heeler mix, 1 1/2 years old, neutered male.He is a total goofball, a loving and loyal boy who deserves a home where he can get all the time, attention, and care he needs. Since he is a very high energy dog, it would be best if he had a larger yard to run around in or to stay an outside dog. He is very shy but will come out of his shell. We are committed to finding the right person or family—not just the first one who asks. His well-being will always come first. If you or someone you know is looking to welcome an amazing dog into their family, please send me a message. I'd love to talk more and make sure it's the perfect fit. Please be kind. This has been an incredibly emotional decision, and we are doing what we believe is best for someone who we love very much.Located in Prattville/Millbrook, AL

Story
Cedar had been a long-term resident at an animal shelter I worked at for a few months and was not doing too great in a kennel. As I no longer have a job (old company shut down due to inadequate funding), I cannot afford his needs nor do I have the room for him in my current housing. He is by far one of the sweetest, most versatile dogs one could ask for! He does love kids, however getting some energy out would do some good as he does like to shake. He is VERY food motivated, cuddly, and a big goof ball. He can be a couch potato, or a hiking buddy. One thing to note is that he does have a fear of thunderstorms! He tries to hide under blankets or behind couches to get away from the noise. He does have a habit of “snarling” when excited, but he’s learned to smile at people the way we smile at him!

Story
Meet Sebastian! This HANDSOME boy is on the hunt for a place to call home! Sebastian was picked up by one of our deputies and safely transported to the shelter. He patiently waited through his stray hold, hoping his family would come looking for him... but sadly, like so many dogs, his owner never came forward. And honestly? We just can't understand how anyone could let this GOOD BOY slip away! Sebastian is incredibly sweet, well-mannered, walks beautifully on a leash, and is just an all-around wonderful dog. Sebastian is around 2 years old and weighs about 70 pounds, and we think he may be a Great Pyrenees/Husky mix. What do you think? He has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccines. One little thing did show up during his medical exam; Sebastian is heartworm positive. But don't let that scare you! We've already got his heartworm treatment scheduled and are taking care of it. Now, all Sebastian needs is what he's been waiting for all along: a family of his very own. This precious boy is ready to leave the shelter behind and start the next chapter of his life. Could you be the home he's been waiting for? Apply to adopt at www.montgomeryhumane.com
