Please make sure to read the narrative below our pet's photos as you will find a description of our pet with all we know about them, our adoption fee info, and you will find the link to do our online Adoption Application which is the first step in our Adoption Process!     Please read ALL below where you will find answers about the pet, our adoption fees and how to do our adoption application!   Pet Description:  Dixon is a 5-year old male Pyrenees/Shep mix, 125 lbs.  He came to us from an owner unable to care for him.  He is housetrained and a HUGE lover boy!  Likes to play with balls, does NOT like water.  He even helped save another dog by being a blood donor for an emergency case at a local vet!   DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more.  (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter).   The first step is to our Adoption Application here:  https://elmorehumane.org/adoption-application-online-form2.html .   IMPORTANT – we respond to your emailed applications and queries via email back to you.  Please make sure you have either added our email  (hselco@bellsouth.net)  to your contact list or that you routinely check your SPAM folder for our response just to be safe. Max is an 1-year-old male Great Pyrenees who must be neutered before adoption.  He was found as a stray, out in the county, and his owner was never located.  Max is solid white; and has a gorgeous, soft coat.  He weighs 79 pounds so he is a very big guy!  Max is painfully shy and timid.  If you spend time with him he will warm up to you; and eventually, if you are lucky, you will get a tail wag.  Max is a very sweet fellow who just doesn't have a lot of confidence in mankind right now.  He would be fine with children.  If you have another dog, we would required a meet & greet with your dog--to make sure they will get along well with each other.  Max's dream home would have lots of land where he could play.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75.  All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Casper is an 1-year-old male Great Pyrenees who must be neutered before adoption.  He was brought to PAHS as a stray.  Someone found him out in the county and tried, unsuccessfully, to locate his owner.  Casper has a long, white coat that is just beautiful.  He weighs 70 pounds so he is a very big fellow.  Casper is friendly but very shy and timid.  We believe he would be good with children; but, if you have another dog, we would require you to bring your dog to PAHS for a meet & greet with Casper.  This big guy would appreciate acreage where he could be the king of his territory.  Casper would also, not mind having a job, to keep him busy.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75.  All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Hello, my name is Echo and as you can see I am a black and white beauty! I was roaming in a neighborhood not too long ago and a very nice deputy saw me. She pulled up right beside me and asked me if I wanted to ride to the safety of the shelter! I said “sure” in my very own doggie way! I waited at the shelter my allotted time and I am now ready for adoption. I have all of my vaccinations, I have a microchip, and I have been spayed. A little problem did show up on my health check up. I am heartworm positive, but no worries! The shelter already has my treatment set up! I hope that someone will want to come meet me and foster me through my treatment! Then we can make it official and you can adopt me!! I am about a year old and I passed all of my behavior tests with flying colors! Come meet me and see why!

Howdy do! My name is Buddy! I am a good boy that wants to find a new home. I was found waaaayyyy out in the county all alone! I was picked up by one of the nice Humane Officers. I was really glad for the ride, because I had an injured foot! Yikes! It really hurt! Fortunately, the deputy was able to get me the help I needed very quickly with a visit to the vet. OOoooooooo….it feels so much better now! The shelter not only took care of my foot, they also gave me all of my vaccinations, they tested me for heartworms and I was negative, they gave me a microchip, and they had me neutered. I am a two-year-old shepherd mix and I want to be your new family member!
