Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. QUINN is available! Quinn is  approximately 8 years old and neutered. He was taken to the county shelter as a stray, so we knew very little about him at the time we rescued him. He was listed as a Pyrenees mix, but he may be a purebred, according to his vet. Quinn was in sad shape when he arrived and very thin, but in the past month he has thrived in foster care and is a different dog. Typically Pyrenees, he is very affectionate once he gets to know and trust you, but may be a little stand-offish at first. He can be a little fearful on walks - understandable considering his history. Although he was jealous at first, Quinn is now doing well with the resident dog. He is housetrained and sleeps through the night. We do not know how he is with children or cats. Quinn is a big dog at 75 lbs (and may top out at 85 lbs) and is very active now that he has recuperated from his travels. He needs a fenced yard. All potential fosters and adopters must complete an application, pay the $25.00 application fee and have a home visit before being considered for any dog.  If you reside in Arizona and are interested in adopting Quinn from Arizona Golden Rescue, we recommend that you visit our website asap and complete the Online Adoption Application to begin the process.    WE DO NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA.   http://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption  Once we receive your application and application fee, a home visit will be scheduled. Once your home visit is approved, if Quinn is spoken for, you will be placed on our waiting list. (Please be aware that your application cannot be processed until the application fee is paid.) Our sole purpose is to find the perfect home for the dog as our dogs always come first.         Because we have new rescues coming in all the time, if the Golden that is the right dog for you is not available at this time it will probably come into Rescue and you would be notified of the availability.    Waiting times vary depending upon how specific your preferences are. The more you restrict the factors involved in choosing a dog – age, sex, coat color, etc. – the longer the wait may be before we have the perfect dog for you.  Please note: it is the policy of AGR not to place a dog less than 3 years of age with a family that has children less than 3 years of age.  If you have specific questions about our adoption process, please go to this link at our website.   https://arizonagoldenrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/display?PageID=20779  Arizona Golden Rescue is organized as an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501 (c) (3) corporation. We are a charitable organization whose mission is to rescue displaced Golden Retrievers and mostly Golden mixes that have been abused, abandoned, neglected or unwanted and find new, loving, permanent homes for them. Rescued dogs are given a complete veterinary exam and their vaccines are updated; they are also micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and tested for valley fever and heartworm. AGR provides emotional and medical rehabilitation and will pay for medications and for necessary surgeries. Through education at public appearances, AGR seeks to educate the public about the Golden Retriever breed and about responsible dog ownership, in order to help reduce the unwanted dog population.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 2, 2024, 4:30 pm

Story
Hey, I’m Jazzy! Folks call me a gentle giant. I am guessed to be an 18-month-old Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix. I look big because I am fluffy, but I only weigh 70 lbs. I am sweet, goofy, and get along with people and dogs of all sizes. Can you believe I was picked up as a stray and no one came looking for me? I am looking for a loving family to call my own. Could that be you?  I am spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee of $350 helps offset the cost of medical expenses. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think I could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*.   *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.  May 2, 2024, 2:40 pm

Story
Koda is a very sweet, gentle giant. He turned 4 years old on November 3, 2023. Great with other dogs and loves taking walks. A little shy at first but once he warms up to people you won’t be able to have alone time. Very loving. Unfortunately my mom passed away a while back and he was her dog and I just don’t have the time to be able to take care of him and love on him the way he deserves. He is house trained and potty trained very well (0 accidents since I’ve had him for about a year now). He does have a few favorite toys that will come with him.

Sebastian was found as a stray and the owner was never found. He was found with his buddy, River, a Belgian Malinois. Sebastian is housebroken and dog friendly. He is so gentle and sweet. Sebastian would love to hike and play and then snuggle up with you for a movie. Is he your new bestie?

Story
Brody came to us after we received a plea to help a litter of 9 puppies living in a "pen" in the middle of the desert. They had been born out there and had spent the first four months of their lives with limited food and no access to fresh water. When we were asked to help, there was no chance we could say no. We welcomed the entire family into the rescue, and they were the first little lives to call our new sanctuary "home". Their tiny [big] hearts and most perfect demeanors blew us away from day one...especially Brody's. Brody is now over a year old and has grown into a truly handsome and impressive pup. Our chocolatey brown and black boy is not only "easy on the eyes", but he has a beautiful soul as well. He is sweet and gentle with people of all ages, and he recently graduated at the top of his class from professional obedience training. He knows ALL the good stuff, like "sit", "lay", "place", "leave it", and he walks loose leash by your side. Because of his incredible temperament, outstanding obedience and ability to appropriately interact with dogs of all shapes and sizes, Brody has become our socializing all-star and is often used for volunteer training here at the sanctuary. He is so special, and he truly steals the hearts of everyone he meets. As much as we all love and adore having Brody here with us, we know he is missing just one thing...a home of his very own. We would love to see this boy find a forever home with an active family who has other fun, social dogs. We want a family who will bring him along on all their adventures and spoil him with endless love all day every day. Because Brody is a big young boy, we just know he would love to have a yard to run and play and be a puppy in. Despite his size, though, he can absolutely go to a family with young children of any age...He's just that perfect. Brody's adoption fee includes his completed veterinary exams, vaccines, neuter, microchip and his completed professional training. We will provide an in-home session with our trainer so his new family can utilize all of the commands that Brody has learned. We truly are looking for the most perfect home for our most perfect boy. If you think you might be that most perfect fit (and you've already fallen in love with those golden honey eyes of his), you can apply here: https://lovethemallrescue.org/brody-1
