Story
Meet Suki!Suki arrived at the Sunshine Coast Branch through our Drive-For-Lives program from Northern BC. Suki was surrendered through no fault of her own, and is a true Livestock Guardian Dog! From Suki's behaviour and temperament, we believe she would be best suited to an adult only home, on a quiet acreage. Suki seems to be quite uncomfortable in indoor settings, and is pretty skittish around loud noises and fast movements. She is interested in people, and will slowely approach you to check you out, before offering you her big white paw in a silent request for love and affection. Suki loves nothing more than to sit outside in the sunshine with her person and just enjoy the peace and quiet. We are hoping to find Suki a home with another dog, as she completely blossoms into a confident, and happy girl when she's in the company of another canine friend! All in all, Suki is a very sweet, shy, gentle gal who's just looking for a nice quiet life away from the hustle and bustle. If you think you could offer this loving pup a home where she can become her happiest self.. Please apply online.🐾🌲Suki ID: 587370PLEASE NOTE: This dog is located on the Sunshine Coast and travel via BC Ferries is required to adopt. Appointments are preferred to adopt one of our animals. Story
Introducing our lovable furry friend! This charming pup is a people-person through and through—ready to soak up all the pets and attention from anyone, including strangers! However, when it comes to little ones, sudden movements and loud noises can startle him a bit. If children are calm and gentle, he's happy to hang out. Although he's not a fan of being carried or lifted up, he's a big fan of canine companions, especially smaller or similar-sized dogs. He's a true protector, but only when needed—stepping up if other dogs are too rowdy or aggressive. Birds? Squirrels? They definitely catch his eye during walks, but with a bit of leash training, he's working on his focus. In terms of energy, he's got the perfect balance—loving outdoor adventures but a total zen master indoors. While he might tug a little on walks, once he settles, he's an excellent leash follower. Busy streets can be overwhelming, so quieter spots are more his style. No guarding resources from people, but he might issue a gentle growl if other dogs get too close. When it's time to travel, he prefers a cozy crate in the car—helping ease those nerves and avoiding any car sickness. One thing's for sure—he's a potty pro outdoors only! Basic commands like sit, stay, paw, and eye contact? Nailed it! And did we mention he's a sucker for ice cubes? If you're ready to welcome this gentle giant into your heart and home, reach out to our team today to make him a part of your family! Story
Meet Tennessee, Texas and Montana! There 3 siblings just arrived to West Vancouver through our Drives for Lives transfer program. While they are new to us, we know it's not going to take very long for them to find their forever families. These 3 were part of an unexpected litter, and were surrendered to the SPCA in North Peace. These pups are cattle dog and Great Pyrenees mixes, so families should be prepared for LARGE and active dogs! We recommend looking into both breeds if you are not familiar with them. These pups would not be well suited to small apartment living, as they are both active working breeds. Texas, Montana and Tennessee are all friendly, social pups, but they can be a little shy when first meeting strangers. Future homes should be prepared to continue to grow their confidence with new and unknown things. These pups are certainly NOT going to be couch potatoes, and are very active! They would love a home that offers lots of fun things to do and exciting outdoor adventures. All three are currently learning to walk on a harness and leash, this is brand new to them! All 3 are very smart and eager to learn. Taking on a brand new puppy is a ton of work, make sure you and your family are feeling prepared by checking out our dog care guide: https://spca.bc.ca/faqs/dogs/ Want to take one of these beauties home? Please drop in to the West Vancouver SPCA during our adoption hours (12pm-3pm, closed only on Mondays) to meet one and fill out an application. OR fill out an application online! (*please note, due to a high volume of interest in puppies, applications in person will take priority) Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Red Brown Weight: 14 Age: 0yrs 5mths 2wks
