Story
Simon is a 2 year old dog who weighs 76 pounds. This gentle giant is very friendly and loves to play! Due to his size and energy level, we'd recommend a home familiar with XXL breeds who can give him time to adjust to a new environment with all the fun things that help dogs when heading home (crate, kongs, puzzles). I don't have history with dogs, but may do well with a slow introduction!I don't have history with cats, but may do well with a slow introduction and dog savvy cats!I don't have history with kids, but may do well with a slow introduction! If you are interested in this specific animal, please come to the shelter for walk-in adoptions Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30am to 5:30pm. We recommend coming in as early as possible, as adoptions are first-come, first-served

Story
My name is Marley and I'm approx. 3 yrs old. I am a companion, friend, protector and life-changer. I'll add a dimension to your life that may be missing. I will work for you, guard you, keep you company and love you. When I arrived, I was battered and defeated. I was dealt a bad hand, but I responded with courage. I don't judge the folks who neglected and abused me. I don't hate. I don't discriminate and I'm trying not to hold grudges. I DO know how to love unconditionally, and that's all I want in return. Don't pity me because I am a rescued dog. Adopt me and let me walk with greatness by your side. Note: Great Pyrenees are considered a Giant Breed. The average weight can be 100lbs. or more. They bark, shed and have a wanderlust, so secure fences are a must-have. They are NOT off-leash dogs and a Pyr off-leash is called a "dis'a'Pyr". Some Pyrs do well with other dogs and some don't because by the virtue of the breed traits they were bred to keep out intruders and can consider some dogs as intruders. While they make wonderful pets and family dogs, they aren't for everyone so be sure to understand and learn about the breed traits of this breed or any breed you might be considering.

Story
My name is Harley, and I've got quite the story to share with you. At just 15 months old, I was a big, loving, and sweet pup who was ready to find my forever home and was adopted in 2021. I'm almost 5 yrs old. You see, I was with my previous owners for almost four years, but unfortunately, they had to move to LA for a job and couldn't take me along. It's not my fault; I'm just caught in the winds of change and a lack of commitment. Here, at the rescue I've been treated like the royalty I am. I'm standing tall with a glorious coat and a heart full of hope. I've grown up and learned so much, and I've even made some furry friends along the way. I might be a bit goofy, but trust me, my heart is pure gold. I promise, if you give me a chance, I'll be the best dog you could ever ask for. I may be 109 pounds of love, but I'll gladly curl up in your lap if you'll have me. All I want is to be loved, cared for, and to make you proud. So, what do you say? Are you ready to open your heart to a big, handsome guy like me? I promise, the only thing bigger than my stature is my heart, and I'm ready to share it with someone who'll take good care of it for the rest of my life. Is that someone you? With hopeful paws, Harley

Story
April has been patiently waiting for her turn to find a loving family for two long years. She's watched as other dogs have come and gone, wondering when it will be her turn to be loved again. April's story began with difficulty, believed to be a rural working dog who ended up in a kill shelter, terrified and not coping well with the chaos, she was scheduled to be put to sleep. She was rescued just in time. During transport to the rescue, April managed to escape and spent three days running over miles of farmland in California's central valley. When she was finally captured and brought to safety, she was in a terrible state. April had massive infections, open sores, dehydration, and was very hungry. Her coat was a mess of mud, debris, burrs, and other substances. Despite her rough start, April has settled into the rescue and is a great girl. April would do best as an only dog in the home. She is loving and a great watch dog, sounding the coyote alarm and keeping a close eye on her surroundings. One of the most adorable things about April are her cute little pixie ears. While she's happy at the rescue, and eagerly throws herself down on her bed for belly rubs, she longs to find a family who will appreciate her demeanor and style. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will adore you and keep you safe, April is the dog for you. She's ready to bring love and joy into your home. Could you be the one to give her the fresh start she's been dreaming of? Contact us today to meet April and make her dreams come true. Considering APRIL for adoption? Note: Great Pyrenees are considered a Giant Breed. Average weight can be 100lbs. or more. They bark, shed and have a wanderlust, so secure fences are a must have. They are NOT off leash dogs and a Pyr off leash is called a "dis'a'Pyr". Story
Luna, the 5-year-old spayed female is an affectionate lady who's always up for a good time and loves to play with other dogs. However, she's not one to share her food and will let them know if they try to sneak a bite from her bowl! Luna, with her windblown hair and elegant movement, could easily be mistaken for a movie star. Her bark is not just a bark; it's a symphony of seduction, inviting you into her world of charm and elegance. Luna is looking for someone who appreciates her style and grace, someone who can match her in sophistication and sweetness. If you're looking for a canine companion who's as classy as she is charming, she'll be here waiting for you. Note: Great Pyrenees are considered a Giant Breed. Average weight can be 100lbs. or more.
