"Courtesy Post" This is not a Street Paws animal but we are assisting a family with placing their pet.  Meet Athena! Born in September 2022, Athena is a gorgeous Great Pyrenees mix with a soft yellow-and-white coat and the kind of soulful eyes that will melt your heart in an instant. At first, Athena might greet you with a gentle bark — her sweet way of saying hello — but she quickly warms up once she realizes she’s found a new friend. Calm, cuddly, and affectionate, Athena loves being close to her people and thrives on attention and love. She’s gentle, obedient, and incredibly loving, the kind of dog that’s impossible not to spoil. Athena adores her “brother” Tank and often follows his lead, even if she prefers a slower pace. If you’re looking for a loyal, easygoing companion who will shower you with unconditional love, Athena is the perfect match. Adoptions are limited to an approximately 150 mile radius from Locust Grove, GA, certain circumstances may allow exceptions.  Adoption fee is $250 To apply to adopt this pet, please fill out a Preliminary Adoption Application at  https://www.streetpaws.org/home/adopt.     This application does not commit you to an adoption. It is used to screen those interested to make sure the home is a good match for the pet and your family. We verify vet history on current/previous pets to ensure pets have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated annually. Please call your vet to give permission for us to call them. Story
Sweet Boy showed up here barely able to walk. Nursed him back to health. He prefers outdoors but likes to come inside and visit and will spend the night inside and is house broken. He is a gentle giant and is excellent with children and cats and other dogs who do not want to fight. He once defended my life against a much larger stray who showed up on the property, refusing to allow the growling and charging dog to get near me. He is an excellent watch dog. He prefers to run around property but is good on a leash for a walk. He needs a loving home as I am being forced to move from the property and cannot find a place that will allow a large dog or a proper and safe place to live with him. He would benefit from being around other dogs, however is fine on his own. He is loving and loyal, medium energy, goofy and has a great sweet personality.

Duke Male Great Pyrenees Mix DOB: 8/82025Adoption Fee: $200 Duke is a very handsome Great Pyrenees Mix that is ready to find his people! Duke loves to go on walks and does really well with not pulling. He has a lot of puppy energy that he would like to get out in a big back yard with some kids to play with. This guy has a spunky personality that will blow you away and keep you entertained! Please come by and meet this big boy!!Please read the animal bios completely before requesting additional information as we do our best to answer the most frequently ask questions in these bios. In order to adopt one of our animals an application must be submitted and approved. For more information on any of our pets, please feel free to email us at INFO@HUMANEMORGAN.ORG give us a call at 706-343-9977. All dogs are heartworm negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. All cats are FeLv/FIV negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. We are open 10am-5pm Monday-Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application.
