Story
My grandmother health has taken a tole with chemo treatment. The family is unfortunately unable to keep up with his lifestyle anymore. We would love for him to be active household with outdoors time. This is such a hard decision, but what is best for him.

Story
This big girl is Athena! She arrived at the shelter as a lost dog on 2/18, and sadly, no one has come to reclaim her. The volunteers gave her the name Athena because it seemed fitting for a guardian livestock dog. She is described as friendly and inquisitive. When she was approached by a dog through the fence outside she was standoffish, but this breed is known for being solitary and not making many canine friends. After all, they have a job to do! Athena is approximately 1 year old, and weighs 75 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines and did test negative for heartworms. She will be spayed and microchipped upon adoption. Please come meet Athena in kennel 878; her ID # is 17047. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Diffie is a stunning "looker" who draws a crowd wherever he goes. Rescued during the pandemic, he has spent the last few years being a beloved companion. His favorite things include: the wind in his hair -whether it’s a car ride with the windows down or a day out on the boat, he loves the breeze and handles travel like a pro; outdoor freedom -he is well-behaved and is both house-trained and off-leash trained, making him a dream for someone with a secure property or an active lifestyle. While Diffie is a "good boy" in so many ways, he does struggle with resource guarding and food protectiveness. Because of this, he needs a specific type of home: someone who understands livestock guardian breeds or has experience with resource guarding, a home where the owner has the time and patience to continue his behavioral training, ideally a home without small children (to ensure everyone's safety during mealtimes). Diffie has so much love to give and is ready for his next chapter.

Story
Hello, my name is Chloe,I am a young great Pyrenees who was surrendered here for being a bad chicken and horse guardian... let's just say I did not take my guardian job very seriously and will like house life better. It is not recommended I live with or near chickens as I like to snack on them. I am fully grown and considered a large breed dog. I sadly tested positive for heart worms and will receive treatment by the shelter even after I am adopted. Because of my heart worm status, I do have special instructions when I go home to ensure I am a happy healthy girl for years to come. I have seemed neutral with cats, and I would like to meet my canine and human siblings before I come home. I am a sweet girl that loves to smile! Come meet me today! I promise you will not be disappointed. Weight: 61 lbs Primary Color: White Weight: 57.4 Age: 1yrs 0mths 2wks

Story
Sweet Boy showed up here barely able to walk. Nursed him back to health. He prefers outdoors but likes to come inside and visit and will spend the night inside and is house broken. He is a gentle giant and is excellent with children and cats and other dogs who do not want to fight. He once defended my life against a much larger stray who showed up on the property, refusing to allow the growling and charging dog to get near me. He is an excellent watch dog. He prefers to run around property but is good on a leash for a walk. He needs a loving home as I am being forced to move from the property and cannot find a place that will allow a large dog or a proper and safe place to live with him. He would benefit from being around other dogs, however is fine on his own. He is loving and loyal, medium energy, goofy and has a great sweet personality.
