Story
"Courtesy Post" This is not a Street Paws animal but we are assisting a family with placing their pet.  Meet Athena! Born in September 2022, Athena is a gorgeous Great Pyrenees mix with a soft yellow-and-white coat and the kind of soulful eyes that will melt your heart in an instant. At first, Athena might greet you with a gentle bark — her sweet way of saying hello — but she quickly warms up once she realizes she’s found a new friend. Calm, cuddly, and affectionate, Athena loves being close to her people and thrives on attention and love. She’s gentle, obedient, and incredibly loving, the kind of dog that’s impossible not to spoil. Athena adores her “brother” Tank and often follows his lead, even if she prefers a slower pace. If you’re looking for a loyal, easygoing companion who will shower you with unconditional love, Athena is the perfect match. Adoptions are limited to an approximately 150 mile radius from Locust Grove, GA, certain circumstances may allow exceptions.  Adoption fee is $250 To apply to adopt this pet, please fill out a Preliminary Adoption Application at  https://www.streetpaws.org/home/adopt.     This application does not commit you to an adoption. It is used to screen those interested to make sure the home is a good match for the pet and your family. We verify vet history on current/previous pets to ensure pets have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated annually. Please call your vet to give permission for us to call them. If more information is needed regarding the pet email info@streetpaws.org. You must complete the pre-application to obtain approval to meet the pet.  November 12, 2025, 10:12 am

Story
I found Buddy walking down the road early in the morning, I took him home out of the harm's way and tried to find his owner, but looks like the owner was not looking for him. Buddy is young, about a year old, well groomed, well behaved, been through obedience training and knows basic commands. He is very good with small female dogs (no competition?) and loves being on the backyard. He is very affectionate and follows you everywhere. He is a gentle giant, in great shape and health. I feed him home made meals so that he stays healthy. Unfortunately, I cannot keep him as I have 5 rescued dogs and 10 Chinese Sharpei dogs, which are territorial. It is getting difficult to manage them as I have to keep them separate from Buddy and alternate their trips to the backyard. Buddy is a special and majestic dog, will only give him to a family who will take good care of such beautiful breed and know everything about these dogs and their needs to prevent them from ever losing their home.
