Story
I adopted Madden at the Humane Society for my son and he has been such a great dog. However, I can tell he is needing more than what we can offer him. He wants to roam in a big back yard with lots of kids, and I don’t have that. I work far away from where we live and now that my son is involved with sports and such, we just aren’t home that much and it kills me to see Madden not getting the life he deserves.

Story
Meet Gracie!Gracie is a 78lb, 3-year-old, Great Pyrenees who is looking for a home where she can thrive! She came to the shelter after an incident where she nipped her female owner. Her previous owners reported that Gracie was wonderful with everyone else in the household and did well when out of the home.Gracie is house trained, does okay in a crate, and has done well with older children. She has medium-to-high energy and would love a home where she has plenty of room to stretch her legs, run, explore, and put her energy to good use. A securely fenced yard, active family, or someone who enjoys training and working with their dog would be a great fit for her.Because of her history, Gracie would do best in a home without small children and with someone who is willing to give her structure, patience, and continued guidance. We are currently unsure how she feels about cats or other dogs, so introductions should be handled thoughtfully.Gracie has a lot of potential and is looking for a person who will set her up for success. If you’re an active dog lover looking for a smart, energetic companion, Gracie may be the girl for you! ??We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. Story
Meet Mabel! Mabel is a sweet, playful girl around 1 year old who hasn’t had the easiest start in life—but none of that has dimmed her spirit. Through patience, consistency, and a whole lot of love, she has truly blossomed into a wonderful companion. Mabel is deaf, but don’t let that fool you—this smart girl is already learning hand signals and picking up on routines at the rescue like a pro. She’s eager to please and thrives when she knows what’s expected of her. She absolutely adores her people and loves being close to them… but if there’s a dog friend around, it’s game on! Mabel is a playful, energetic pup who enjoys wrestling and goofing around with other dogs. Because she’s still figuring out just how big she is, her play style can be a little rough at times—but she’s quickly become a favorite among the other dogs at the facility. Mabel has been working hard on her mouthiness and has made incredible progress in a short amount of time. With a little time to decompress, she settles into a calmer, more easygoing version of herself. This special girl is looking for a home that will continue to give her structure, guidance, and lots of love so she can keep growing into her best self. She’s come so far—and now she’s ready for a forever family and a place she can truly call her own. *Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy *Please visit website for how to adopt: https://sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org/adopt *Please note that we do not operate on a first come first served basis
