Vlad was an injured stray for over six months before WAAL could catch and rescue him. He’s recuperating from FHO surgery on one hip and doing well. Due to his history, he’s a little slow to warm up to new people, but when he does, he's the sweetest boy. He gets along with dogs of all sizes, doesn't care at all about cats and is so gentle with children. He is quiet in the house but takes the job of protecting his yard very seriously. He will bark as people pass by (He’s a Great Pyrenees, typical for the breed). His ideal home would have at least one dog friend and a well secured yard. He's learning to enjoy the finer things in life like dog beds, comfy couches, and dog toys. To meet him, fill out an application at waalrescue.org/adopt.

Jack made his way to rescue on Halloween so we found it only fitting he have a name befitting of the holiday! Jack was born in July of 2025 and is such a delightful puppy! True to the Great Pyrenees breed, he has a calm and sweet temperament. His expressive eyes will melt your heart! Jack loves being with his people and if you get down on his level he’s bound to give you a puppy kiss or two. In his foster home, Jack enjoys playing with dogs big and small, and needs a canine companion in his furever home. Jack knows sit, is treat motivated and has caught on to potty training quickly. He currently weighs about 40 lbs but still has a lot of growing to do to grow into those big paws! Adoption Requirements: *A secure & visible fence *A minimum of 3 yrs of vet records on a dog in your name *Home Visit Jack is not neutered and will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract/deposit with adopter promising to neuter at approx 1 year of age. Shiloh and her Family member cooper are related Shiloh is a sweet with small animals, kids, cats and loves to be out side in nature. She is very talkative, she loves to let you know when she wants out or she wants her dinner. I was gifted these dogs, they are very sweet they get along with other dogs with the proper introduction. Would prefer a calmer dog partner. They are slightly reactive on the leash. Prong collars are provided.

Cooper and Shiloh I believe are siblings both are about 3-5 years old. Cooper is very sweet loves to be by your side and loves to give you an arm to pet. If you don’t pay enough attention to him he will kindly ask for my pettings. He is vocal but not in a bad way! I was gifted these dogs to find a new home. Both are great with small animals and cats and kids. Would need a great introduction to get along with other dogs though. Slightly reactive on walks.

Story
Jack is a very good dog. Hes very protective over his people. When someone is upset he will try to comfort. He does not like yelling and will try to protect whoever is being yelled at. He likes to run off sometimes but he always comes back. We just need to re home him because some things happened and I don't have a choice. We love him very much and wish we could keep him. He does well with baths. He will sit to be brushed but sometimes you will have to move him to get him where you want him to go to get other parts of his fur. He has never been shaved.
