Story
Hi my name is Daisy and I am a almost 3 year old Great Pyrenees mix. I love to go on walks and play with stuffed toys. I am crate trained and house broken. I enjoy the company of other dogs, but can also be the only child if my human will be with me most of the time. I have some anxiety and can be a bit talkative at times, but with the help of medication I've been doing better. I do great in a car and have the best manners while in public. I know all my basic commands! I prefer to sleep in bed with my person and love to give hugs. If you're looking for a talkative girl that wants to be by your side, then I'm your girl! If you'd like to adopt this pup please fill out our application at www.goofyfootrescue.org

Story
Often times we go in and on about our pets but sometimes it's best to allow the foster families to describe the perfect forever home for them. Here's what Michele would like to see for Doc.... Doc is officially finished with heartworm treatment! Now it’s time to find his forever home. Here is what I think would be perfect for him: a family home with at least one more playful dog and bigger kids (he still jumps when he is excited to see you, but we are working on that), fenced yard (his breed likes to wander), someone willing to take him on regular walks, someone willing to be patient with him, as he takes a minute to get comfortable with new people (he is shy, not aggressive). In return, you will get the sweetest, softest dog who loves nothing more than big hugs and belly rubs. I love this dog and am so proud of the progress he has made. He will make a great addition to a family. This is what we want for this sweet guy! He and his brother spent countless months at the shelter because no one had the time to spend teaching them about love and patience and kindness. Then Doc met Michele and Kip and he has become THE MOST AMAZING , loving, kind, gracious boy ! Doc is in a foster home in Memphis, Tn. If you would like to make him a part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Transport runs every weekend to the north east, leaving Memphis Tennessee at 6 AM Friday mornings. Transport is an additional $165. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
My name is Chachi and I am a very handsome and loving Great Pyrenees boy that is 18 months old and only 98 pounds.  I am big but NOT HUGE!   You see me smiling?Well, I do this all the time because I am a happy dog and I want people to know that I am very friendly and ready to be petted.   I really do like all people and all dogs that I meet.  I really, really love children too!   They say that my breed requires a fenced yard and I have to say that is a really good idea.  I like spending time outside and you really don’t want to have to sit and watch me for safety reasons if you don’t have a secured fence.   So…. if you have a physical fenced yard then Critter Cavalry Rescue would like to speak with you.  I think that if you love BIG dogs that I am a rather handsome dude to consider.  Mud puddles might NOT be my friend but big snow falls and deep banks would make me really happy!  I could stay clean very easily.   I am almost housebroken, and crate trained.    I would like to be your inside cuddle/lovebug and maybe help you start the new year off to a nice white fluffy start!  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com ASAP and ask all the questions you want about filling out an adoption form.    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 19, 2024, 7:30 pm

Story
My name is Ocean and I am a 4 year old Great Pyrenees mix girl that is on the smaller side of 70 pounds and I love being outdoors.   I am looking for a home with some land to run on and a family  that will let me be inside as well as outside.  I am housebroken, great with children and dogs and good on a leash.   If I want out of a chain link yard, I will make sure I find a way out.  The only fence that would completely keep me contained is a privacy fence or a six foot iron fence that I cannot climb.  I just being a free spirit and so I could see myself living in the Northeast especially where it is cold and maybe out in the country or woods where I can explore but willing to always come home. I am truly a loving and sweet girl that  you will never regret loving or adopting.  My current family adores me but their yard is small and I need more room to run and enjoy my Great Pyrenees habits of being an outdoorsy kind of breed.   If you are interested then please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   I am ready to find my final family to love with all my pretty and pure heart. April 19, 2024, 7:30 pm

Story
**Must have an approved application to meet** Meet Tyberious! This handsome, nine-month-old pup came to us in November 2023 and is looking for a patient home that will continue teaching him that the world and new people are not so scary! There is reason to believe that Tyberious was not treated the kindest in his previous home and will need to go into a home where only positive reinforcement training is used and where the people in his home can provide a structured environment for him to continue building his confidence. In his time with us, Tyberious has been very neutral and curious about other animals. He pays no mind to the other dogs in the kennel and has been friendly with with the office cats he has met! He is a very smart and food-motivated dog and has made a lot of progress even with his basic training since coming to us. Ty currently knows 'sit' ,'down', 'off' and is working on 'leave it' and his leash manners. There is nothing he is not willing to work on as long as he is given a treat in return! Tyberious is an extremely goofy pup once he gets comfortable with you! He is an absolute cuddle bug once he has bonded with you and wants nothing more than to snuggle He is always ready to play a game of tug whether he is lounging around with you inside or hanging around outside. Tyberious loves exploring the outdoors and going on car rides as long as he has someone there to reassure him that everything is fine. He gravitates more toward the women he has met but with patience (and treats!) does warm up to men as long as he is provided the time to get to know them. Once he has all that puppy energy out, Tyberious settles well and enjoys having a chew or Kong to entertain himself with. Squeaky toys and stuffed toys are his absolute favorite to play with and he will keep himself endlessly entertained by tossing them around or playing fetch. All this big boy wants to do is find a home where he can grow into the wonderful dog staff knows him to be! If you are interested in visiting Tyberious and have an approved application, feel free to contact us about more information or a time to meet. Applications can be submitted online or in person here at the shelter if you have yet to have an application submitted. Feel free to share so we are able to find Tyberious a home best suited for this handsome boy!

Story
Everett came to us as a stray from animal control. He was wary of people. He has been at the Happy Hounds Prison Dog Program for several months and has done very well! Everett is a really great dog and should be somewhere he can have a large fenced yard to play in and patrol. At first we thought Everett was a farm dog, but the husky in him does not make him suitable for farm life. Everett needs to form a bond with his person/people. He doesn't tolerate strangers and will alert them that they are unwelcome. Everett is truly a working dog whose sole purpose in life is to protect his people and property. He is not a social dog per se except with his owner(s) and family members. Because of his protective nature, he would do better in a home without children. If you are looking for a dog to protect you, your family, and your property, Everest is your boy....AND he's housebroken and obedience trained! Anyone willing to take a couple of days to bond with Everett will find out what a special dog he is; VERY loyal. He's a beautiful, smart, sweet boy that we think would love to have a family and home of his own. Please spread the word about Everett so he can have his forever family soon! Everett is ready to be adopted. Whoever adopts this beautiful boy will need to understand that it will take a little time to bond. Once that bond is created Everett will be the perfect dog. He will protect the family and property, Update from his trainer: Week 24. Not much more to say about Everett. He a Pyrenees and needs a furever home that understands the breed. He bonds strongly with his people in about 2 days. He will always be a guard dog (in his DNA). He will always protect his people. He knows are his commands and cues. Everett is a very humble and observant dog especially to strangers. He does guard his "space". He is not actively involved with any other dogs. No issues with toys or food. He's more of a guarder around his "home". Overall, Everett is a great dog as long as he acknowledges their trust which has to be earned. He knows his commands/cues like sit, down. He isn't destructive and a good leash walker (unless he sees something that distracts him). He is particularly annoyed by trucks for some reason, so a fenced yard is a must.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant. This show stopping big boy is young and full of life. His foster says he is 'very sweet, a lover, adores attention' What a wonderful combination! Sounds like a family dog to me and a best friend in the bargain. He has been seen to be friendly with other dogs. He gets herding and care giving instincts from both sides of his family. He also inherits huge amounts of intelligence from those genes. It should be an enjoyable experience training him to do whatever you might want. He has had all his shots and is ready to be yours. Think of losing your hands in that amazingly soft, deep coat. It will be like playing in the clouds! Come see for yourself!  If you are interested in Simba, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 19, 2024, 3:08 pm
