We have more dogs being turned into rescue. We will keep our site update as they come in, are vetted and determined ready to be adopted. If you have never had a Pyr Puppy you need to read this : http://www.nepyresq.org/page/i-want-a-great-pyrenees-puppy-50.html The application process is to go to our website and fill out an adoption application form. http://www.nepyresq.org/page/adoption-process-47.html We do not accept INVISIBLE fencing for the following reasons: 1) Most Pyrs ignore the pain and go through it. 2) This is a guardian breed and this fencing does not keep people or other animals out of your yard. The Pyr could take them as a threat or be attacked. WE do not allow them to be tied out. It makes them aggressive. If you do not have a fenced yard then a fenced area would be acceptable. Most of these dogs are not a dog park breed. They bark a lot and can bother your neighbors.

Story
Meet Noni ❄️🐾 — a total love bug wrapped in a gorgeous, smart package! Noni is a spayed Great Pyrenees, under 2 years old (birthday 3/30/24), and she is truly something special. She’s affectionate, friendly with strangers, and has that magical Pyr ability to make you feel like her person. She’s house trained, crate trained, comes when called, and is great with cats. Older kids are totally fine too. Noni would do best as the only female dog in the home, as she can be dog-selective, and she’s dreaming of a fenced yard where she can romp—especially if there’s snow involved (it’s her favorite!). Noni is up to date on vaccines, walks nicely but would love a bit more leash training, and does have some separation anxiety, so she’s looking for a home that understands gentle reassurance and routine. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s equal parts cuddle bug and snowy backyard adventurer, Noni might just be your girl. 💙

Story
🐾 Meet Theo! 🐾 Theo is a sweet, energetic, and playful boy who is ready to find his forever home! He LOVES to explore, sniff out new adventures, and enjoy the great outdoors. 🌳🐕 This strong and curious pup is full of personality — he’s playful, loves toys, and thrives with lots of activity. Theo would do best in a home with other dogs to learn from and play with, plus plenty of space to burn off his boundless energy. He’s also okay with cats! 😺 Theo knows his basic commands and is highly motivated by treats and toys. He’s looking for a family who can keep up with his spirited personality and give him the attention and exercise he deserves. If you have a playful, active home with love to give, Theo would be a loyal and joyful addition to your family!

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Meet Minnie, a 4-month-old Great Pyrenees mix and future reality-TV icon in training. For a puppy, she’s surprisingly low energy—think brunch, nap, snack, repeat—but she’s still playful when the mood (or toys or treats) strike. Minnie is good with both dogs and cats, kennel trained, and actively improving her potty training like the overachiever she is. She’s smart, food-motivated, and would absolutely learn calculus if paid in peanut butter. Minnie loves to cuddle, nap on soft humans, and watch reality TV; her current binge is The Traitors, and while she’d definitely be a Faithful, her confessionals would be elite levels of shade. She’s the perfect puppy for someone who appreciates a chill, cuddly, mildly dramatic house hippo that enjoys lazy nights and tiny snacks. Adopt Minnie now—before she becomes booked and busy! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NAF/Dog

Story
Meet Zoey, a 4-month-old Great Pyrenees mix with the soul of a tiny detective and the confidence of someone who already knows the plot twist. She’s super smart, food motivated, kennel trained, and naturally calm—practically unbothered by the chaos of daily life. Zoey prefers true crime documentaries or catching up on current events like a very small, very fluffy correspondent. Zoey has mastered the art of communicating her tone with a single look, often delivering subtle judgment that says, “Are you sure about that?” She’s also a fantastic listener and takes pride in being there for her people; acts of service is her love language, whether that’s supervising chores, offering silent support, or simply existing adorably. If you’re searching for a composed, observant, mildly sassy young lady who reads the room better than most adults, Zoey is your girl! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NAF/Dog
