We have more dogs being turned into rescue. We will keep our site update as they come in, are vetted and determined ready to be adopted. If you have never had a Pyr Puppy you need to read this : http://www.nepyresq.org/page/i-want-a-great-pyrenees-puppy-50.html The application process is to go to our website and fill out an adoption application form. http://www.nepyresq.org/page/adoption-process-47.html We do not accept INVISIBLE fencing for the following reasons: 1) Most Pyrs ignore the pain and go through it. 2) This is a guardian breed and this fencing does not keep people or other animals out of your yard. The Pyr could take them as a threat or be attacked. WE do not allow them to be tied out. It makes them aggressive. If you do not have a fenced yard then a fenced area would be acceptable. Most of these dogs are not a dog park breed. They bark a lot and can bother your neighbors.

Story
Homer’s past is a bit of a mystery, and even his age is uncertain—but what is clear is the kind of dog he is today. Homer is an adult male who was recently neutered and is ready for a new chapter with the right person. He is housebroken and truly enjoys going for walks, where he does very well on leash. At first, Homer can seem a little reserved as he takes time to feel safe, but with calm, patient people, he warms up quickly and forms strong bonds. Once he does, he’s affectionate, playful, and loves nothing more than relaxing and cuddling on the couch. Homer does have some resource-guarding behaviors, including guarding attention, so he needs to be the only pet in the home. He is currently living with a calm female dog, but the situation is not working for him, making it especially important that he find a new home soon. Homer would thrive with a patient adopter who understands the Great Pyrenees breed and is willing to help him continue building confidence and security. With the right guidance and love, he has so much potential to blossom into the wonderful companion he’s meant to be.

Story
Meet Zoey, a 4-month-old Great Pyrenees mix with the soul of a tiny detective and the confidence of someone who already knows the plot twist. She’s super smart, food motivated, kennel trained, and naturally calm—practically unbothered by the chaos of daily life. Zoey prefers true crime documentaries or catching up on current events like a very small, very fluffy correspondent. Zoey has mastered the art of communicating her tone with a single look, often delivering subtle judgment that says, “Are you sure about that?” She’s also a fantastic listener and takes pride in being there for her people; acts of service is her love language, whether that’s supervising chores, offering silent support, or simply existing adorably. If you’re searching for a composed, observant, mildly sassy young lady who reads the room better than most adults, Zoey is your girl! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NAF/Dog
