Story
Meet Whistler!  Whistler is an 11 year old, yes 11 year old, Great Pyrenees dog.  Whistler is the sweetest dog.  He has spent his whole life being a LGD (Livestock Guardian Dog).  He guarded Alpacas.   Whistler has absolutely 0 medical issues except for he has an ear infection.  It has been treated and is on the mend but it is a Horrible ear infection.  He is great with other dogs. Upon bringing Whistler into the rescue he was going to live on a farm protecting goats, however he quickly learned that he loves the indoor life and wants to be inside in the AC.   For this reason we are looking for a generous person that would be willing to give this sweet boy an inside home for whatever time he has left.   He is an amazing dog and we hope that someone will give this boy a happy retirement life indoors! You can apply online at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match. ##2097946##

Story
Mufasa came to the rescue from a county animal control agency as a stray. He was rescue only due to being heartworm positive. We are having him treated for heart worms, and neutered. Mufasa is amazingly cuggly, snuggly, loves affection, and attention. He is housetrained, and sleeps quietly all night. He loves to lay around in the house, and he is very quiet indoors. He would make a great family pet or a companion dog, we also believe he would make a great trained therapy dog.

Story
Quick Facts: Breed: Great Pyrenees Mix Estimated Birthday: 03/01/2022 Size: Currently 85#, we imagine he may fill out around 100#. Hi, I’m Fabian, a 2-year-old Great Pyrenees. I just recently was rescued from a bad situation where I was severely underfed and neglected. I’m starting to gain my weight back and am currently 85# but should top out around 100. Because my previous owner wasn’t able to properly brush and groom me, I’m being treated for an ear infection. I’m house trained and am crate trained. I’m pretty good on a leash but do pull a little but that’s because I’ve not had a ton of practice. I love taking in all the smells and enjoy exploring the yard. I will need at least a 4’ tall fence to keep me safe. I’m great with all animals and my current foster home even has chickens, goats, donkeys and cattle and I do great with them as well. If you are looking for a gentle giant who is very affectionate and highly adaptable, then I’m your guy! Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Fabian is $465 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Due to our thorough adoption process including home visits, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!

Story
Meet Cupid, who comes to us from the Rowan County Animal Shelter. Cupid is an 83 lb., Pyrenees/Lab mix and approximately 8 years old. He was in an accident and was hurting pretty badly, when a kind stranger found him in a ditch and got out of his truck and took Cupid to the shelter. He is recovered now and is doing great. He does tilt his head a bit, but this is just one thing that makes him more adorable. Cupid tends to be clumsy at times, due to his head injury, and is heartworm positive. He has received his Proheart shot and Doxy procedure, which we will continue until he tests negative. This boy wants so much to be loved and is very smart. Cupid is housetrained and does require a fenced in yard. He does have a bit of separation anxiety when left alone (likely from his trauma) and loves to be with his person. He shows zero aggression to people, kids, other dogs, and is nothing but a gentle giant. He would be a wonderful addition to your family. If you are interested in Cupid, please reach out to us for an application.

Story
Odin is a truly handsome, young, 88 pound, Great Pyr boy that was born 1/2/23 and is looking for a family to love and chill with.  This big boy is fully grown and is the so very easy going and good natured.  He was raised with his brother Thor on a country property owned by a senior lady who has come to realize that both the brothers need homes where they can be an inside dog and part of the family.  She cannot provide that and so is now willing to let each one go to separate families that might have children (he loves children) and to be a part of maybe even living with other dogs or cats.  He is good with everyone he meets and all creatures.  This boy is not housebroken as he has never been inside for any length of time to learn the rules and the signals for potty breaks.  He is a loving and easy dog to have around and we want him to become a part of a family life that offers him a big dog bed and lots of love and guidance.  He is good with meeting new people and doesn’t bark excessively at all.  He will bark if he is bored outside in a pen.  He plays nicely and is fun and happy.  If you are interested in this one year old handsome boy please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and let us know where you live:  city and state and let’s start a conversation about him possibly becoming a part of a special family lifestyle.   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.           PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 21, 2024, 11:14 pm

Story
Curious Civic is our most handsome freckled face, 80 lbs. Great Pyrenees mix boy that is just so laid-back guy that is just so wonderful to consider for an adoption.  He has a beautiful blue eye and that could be from so many different breed mixtures that influence his good looks.   This boy is under a year of age and at times can be dog selective if there is an alpha that tries to dominate him.  He is just won’t take being pushed around.  Most Great Pyrs will not.  It is their breed and nature of the breed. He walks great on a leash, enjoys car rides and has a nice disposition that is loving and mild mannered.  He would be a wonderful couch companion for watching anything YOU want on TV.  He is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and micro chipped If you are interested in this boy please contact us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   He is ready to go! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.July 21, 2024, 11:14 pm

Story
Bowman, Bowman, Bowman!  What a handsome boy you and what a little rascal you are at the same time.  Loving, cuddly, shy, and yet outgoing when he feels secure, this handsome puppy is looking for a home to grow tall and strong within.  He is a 6 month old Great Pyr/Lab mix that is 55 pounds and growing each and every day toward his goal of 75-80 pounds.  He has the cutest freckles sprinkled across his ears and face and he has a nice soft white coat of fur.  Bowman can be the typical pupster that will chew your phone charger cord if YOU the human is careless and leaves it accessible and actually any other cord that looks deliciously close or on the floor is totally in danger for a good investigative chew. He is pretty much housebroken and he is good in a fenced yard where he can just hang out and enjoy the great outdoors.  He will bark for a little while after you leave him crated when leaving the house but must be crated and slowly he’s submitting to that reality.  Another dog in the family would be a delight and wholehearted welcomed by Bowman. He is fine with cats, children are fun to play with (he frolics now with a neighbor 3 year old toddler) and dog parks are nothing short of “Disneyland for Dogs” in his eyes.  He is pretty good on a leash and getting better daily with practice.   We think a work from home or stay at home mom environment would be excellent for him and some children would be a plus, another dog a plus but neither is a necessity.  Just company for Bowman is all that we are seeking.  He is still polishing so much of his compliant personality.  The Great Pyr persona is there deeply engrained in his soul.  He would NOT be an apartment or townhouse candidate unless you can take him outside for hours daily to explore.  Bowman fits in but he does have needs when he lives with you.  Company is the biggest need and above all LOVE!   LOTS OF LOVE AND SNUGGLE TIME.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  if you are interested and ask for an adoption application or answers to any questions.

Story
Meet Clark! Clark is beyond a Velcro dog but is more like Gorilla glue!!  He wants to be with a human CONSTANTLY. He is extremely loving and enjoys giving hugs and being wrapped completely in his human’s arms. Clark has not shown any aggression towards dogs, cats, kids, chickens, or pet birds. However he is a typical XXL breed puppy in that he has no idea about controlling his back end which can knock smaller/younger/unstable people down when he’s excited —which is always. As he calms down, he is enjoys cuddling and being with people. If you move; he moves. Clark is crate trained and that is where he’s been sleeping at night. He is not yet 100% house trained, but is working on it! Clark is able to use a doggy door. Clark is a typical puppy and will require training especially on leash. If you are looking for a big goofy lovable  puppy, Clark is your guy!!     Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!
