Angel is a 1 year 3 month old Boxer/Great Pyrenees mix weighing 66 pounds. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender with her sister after an accidental pregnancy. Angel is a sweet and gentle girl with lots of love to give. She is looking for a home with lots of time, love and experience. She is nervous and shy with new people, places and life in general. Angel is unsure of strangers and needs help building trust and confidence. Once you've earned her trust you'll have a new shadow. We do believe she has separation anxiety. She'll happily crawl into your lap (does not know her own size), or sit behind you in the chair, circle around your legs and between your feet. She loves her chew toys, balls and ropes. Treat motivated and a quick learner. Working on learning how to walk on a leash as she had never been on one before coming to the shelter. She is accustomed to a fenced in yard being allowed on the furniture. Not housebroken. Fearful of car rides and thunder. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00 (includes $1.00 service charge).Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today! Both of her parents are full Great Pyrenees, so she’s the real deal — fluffy, sweet, and destined to grow into a loyal, loving companion. 🏡 About Winter: Winter is doing wonderfully in her foster home and is already showing how smart she is! She is learning to use puppy pads indoors and is doing great with them. At night, she keeps her pen clean for the most part, which is a huge win for a puppy her age 👏 🐶 Personality & Playtime: Winter loves to play with the other dogs and puppies in her foster home and really enjoys being part of the pack. She’s a happy, playful girl who also has a gentle, sweet side that will melt your heart. 🧸 Training & Learning: She loves toys and is very treat motivated, making training a fun and positive experience. This girl is eager to learn and will thrive with continued consistency and patience. 🚗🐕 Still Learning: Winter isn’t quite sure about car rides or the leash yet, but she’s a baby and we are already working on helping her feel more confident with both. With time and positive reinforcement, she’ll get there! 🌳 Home Requirements: • Fenced-in yard required. • Puppies will only go to homes that meet certain requirements. • You must have knowledge and experience with the Great Pyrenees breed. Story

We picked Winnie out as a puppy and brought her home to be a livestock guardian to our outdoor animals, which she has done a great job for just over 3 years. She always wants to be doing a job or interacting with us like a big puppy. She's extremely sweet and loves to cuddle, and would definitely be a lap dog if given the opportunity. She is good with our 9 and 6 year olds and has never attacked or been aggressive with anyone. She has 5 acres currently to explore and will not have this much land when we move, and we want to find her a good home where she will continue to have the life she has enjoyed so much.We recently had her go through a 21 day training program at Joel Slavens dog lodge, which taught her several commands and amazing leash training.

Marley needs a farm. He is 3 years old and the sweetest boy. I can't keep forcing him to live such a restricted life just because I love him. Hes amazing with other animals and would be an exceptional livestock guardian. I didn't know what a Great Pyrenees required until after I got him. We tried to provide that for him once we did by getting him some goats and he did very well! But now that the goats are gone hes all alone back there again. He doesn't like being in the house for longer than a few minutes and he cant free roam outside without a barrier. In-ground fences don't work for him either he walks right through the GPS one I had. He would love to run around all night and sleep in a barn/field all day and I would love to find that for him. When I say he isnt good with children, its not that he doesnt play well or acts aggressive. He just treats them like livestock that he needs to keep in control so when they are running around wild he tends to want to correct that.
