Story
Cloud | Male | 3 year 11 months old | Great Pyrenees Weight: Approx. 32kg Cloud is a stunning Great Pyrenees with a soft, fluffy double coat. True to his breed, also known as a Pyrenean Mountain Dog, Cloud has a gentle and cozy exterior with a strong and protective inner nature. He’s not just calm and friendly—his gentleness comes from a deep-rooted confidence, as he believes in protecting those around him. Cloud has a sweet, peaceful personality, but don’t let that fool you. Beneath his calm demeanor, he has a firm sense of responsibility and determination to protect his surroundings. Though he’s a bit shy, you’ll quickly sense his trust and strength. Cloud is a high-energy dog, so he would thrive in a home with a large yard. He loves being active, playing, and running around. Daily outdoor activity is essential to keep him happy and healthy. He’s playful and enjoys both eating and having fun, showcasing his cheerful and innocent side. Despite his past, where he was abandoned at a shelter, Cloud is quick to warm up to new people. While he hasn't had much basic training yet, Cloud is highly intelligent, and positive reinforcement, such as treats, helps him learn quickly. He may pull on the leash during walks out of curiosity, but he’s improving with practice and guidance. Cloud is also great with other dogs, including smaller ones. He’s big in size but still exhibits the endearing behaviors of a puppy, which make him even more lovable. Cloud would be best suited for someone who understands the Great Pyrenees breed or enjoys large dogs and is looking for a companion to enjoy daily outdoor activities with. If you're ready for a loyal, loving companion and are willing to provide training and structure, Cloud will be a lifelong friend, offering deep love and trust in return.

Story
About Frizz:Frizz is an almost two-year-old Great Pyrenees mix with a gentle heart and a thoughtful nature. Great Pyrenees–type dogs are known for their loyalty, independence, and deep bond with their people, and Frizz carries those traits in a softer, more sensitive package. She can be a bit nervous around new people and unfamiliar situations, but she’s growing more comfortable every day. After recently raising three puppies and doing a wonderful job as a devoted mom, it’s finally her turn to be cared for and spoiled. Frizz enjoys toys, but more than anything, she loves being close to her people—and she’s known to give the sweetest hugs.Ideal Home:Frizz would do best in a quiet home where life moves at a calmer pace. She’s not a fan of other dogs and would be happiest as the only pet. A large property or big, securely fenced yard in a peaceful neighbourhood would suit her perfectly, as she truly enjoys being outdoors. Frizz hasn’t had much exposure to the wider world, so many things are still new to her. A patient adopter who can take things slow and help build her confidence will see her blossom.Training and Skills:Frizz knows basic commands and walks nicely on leash. She’s been working on car rides and has made great progress, becoming more comfortable with each trip. She responds best to gentle, steady guidance and positive experiences that help her feel safe.Favourites:• Being close to her people• Giving hugs• Spending time outside• Gentle play with toys• Quiet, relaxed environmentsDislikes:• Loud or busy environments• Sudden changes or overwhelming situationsHow to Adopt:If you’re interested in adopting, please visit us at 107 McLaughlin Road, Lindsay, Tuesday to Sunday 11 am–6 pm, contact us by email info@hskl.ca or phone at 705-878-4618. Story
Emma is a beautiful, sweet, and affectionate great pyreneese and retriever mix, approximately two years old, and looking for a forever home where she can thrive.  This lovely girl has a calm and gentle nature. In the house, Emma is wonderfully well-mannered. She happily sleeps on her bed or the couch, is not destructive, and shows no signs of separation anxiety. She’s always excited to welcome her people home, greeting them with quiet joy rather than barking. Likewise she greets house guests in the same manner. Emma enjoys spending time outdoors, especially lounging in a fenced yard where she can peacefully watch the world go by. She walks nicely on a leash and is friendly and calm when meeting new people.  She is spayed and up to date on all her vaccinations. Healthwise, Emma she was Lyme positive but has been treated and feeling terrific. She is a healthy and happy 75 pound lady! When it comes to other dogs, Emma can be selective and may become overstimulated in certain situations. She tends to guard her food around other dogs, and this is managed by always supervising her when other dogs are present, and not feeding them together. Treats must also be given in situations where there is lots of space between the dogs, so she can learn to understand her turn is coming without experiencing too much stress. Because of her reactivity to some other dogs, Emma should not be off leash in public spaces.  Emma is always gentle with people and absolutely loves having people around. She is the definition of a calm, loyal companion and her gentle presence endears her to all.  She will happily share your home and your heart if you are lucky enough to adopt this special girl.  May 29, 2026, 4:08 pm

Story
**Meet Jemma 💛** If you’re looking for a devoted companion with a big heart and an even bigger personality, Jemma just might be your perfect match. Turning two this July and weighing about 80 lbs, Jemma is a stunning dog with so much love to give. She’s the kind of dog who melts into her people—forming deep, meaningful bonds and always wanting to be close to the ones she trusts most. In the home, she’s truly a dream: fully potty trained, respectful, non-destructive, and wonderfully patient (especially at mealtime!). She has lovely manners and shows no signs of resource guarding—she simply wants to be part of the family. Jemma is full of life and joy. She thrives on play, adventure, and connection. Whether it’s an enthusiastic game of tug-of-war or exploring the outdoors, she brings energy and fun to every day. She absolutely *adores* other dogs and would flourish with a confident, playful canine buddy by her side. She’s also proven to be gentle and compatible with cats, making her a great addition to a multi-pet home. Jemma is deeply loyal and protective of those she loves. With that comes a need for understanding and guidance. She can be reactive on leash—particularly around fast-moving things like runners or bicycles—and is a good watch dog in the home. She needs experienced dog parents to provide structure, consistency, and training. Jemma’s ideal home would be with active adults or a family with older children, ideally with another energetic dog and a securely fenced yard where she can safely play and unwind. She is not suited for first-time dog owners or apartment living. **Applicants must live in Ontario within 3 hours of Toronto.** Jemma is spayed, healthy and up to date on her shots and living in Toronto. For the right person, she will be everything you could hope for—loyal, loving, endlessly entertaining, and deeply devoted. She’s the type of dog who will make you laugh every day and stand by your side through it all. ✨ **Interested in giving Jemma the forever home she deserves?** Please email the rescue at **** to learn more, request an application, and find out about our foster-to-adopt program. Jemma is waiting to meet her person—could it be you?
