Story
Thanks to a generous donor, my adoption fee has been reduced to $40 Ghost is a 1 year and 4 months old neutered male Great Pyrenees and Labrador Retriever mix with a soft cream-colored coat and a heart full of love. He originally came to the shelter as a puppy and was adopted, but sadly returned—along with his brother—when they grew “too big.” His brother has since found a home, and now it’s Ghost’s turn to find the forever family he deserves. Weighing 57 pounds, Ghost is a gentle, playful, and affectionate dog who just wants to be close to you. He loves pets and attention, thrives on companionship, and will happily follow you around for snuggles and love. Ghost is great with kids, making him a wonderful choice for a family. He’s also smart, curious, and eager to please—the kind of dog who’ll shine with just a little training and a lot of love. He has proven to be selective when it comes to dogs, but we have found a few playgroup friends for him since he arrived at the shelter. It is possible that he could do well with the right dog and with a proper slow introduction. A meeting is strongly recommended prior to adoption. Good with Dogs: Dog-selective. May do best in a home as the only dog Good with Kids: Yes- previously lived with children over the age of 6 Good with Cats: Unknown Good with chickens/livestock: Unknown Energy Level: Medium Training Needed: Basic commands Kennel Behavior: Friendly Housetrained: No

COURTESY LISTINGThis dog is a courtesy listing (not in the AARF program) but we will be reviewing applications and helping the owner find the right home for OLIVE. Please visit http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-app/ to apply. Meet Olive, your loyal and loving protector! Olive is a stunning Great Pyrenees mix around 4 yrs old and weighing in around 80lbs. Olive comes with a heart full of loyalty and a personality that’s equal parts guardian and couch companion.  Olive is protective of her people but is gentle and affectionate once you're in her circle. She is house and crate trained, which she will happily go in for a treat! Olive knows the sit command and adores walks, hikes and car rides.  She is always up for an adventure! Olive can be a silly girl.  She likes to lay on her back and scoot herself across the floor with her back legs.  Olive would do great in a home with Great Pyrenees experience.  A home who understands their protective, guardian nature.  She would do great as an only pet or with other dogs after proper introductions.  Olive would adore a securely fenced yard where she can keep an eye on her surroundings.  She needs a home without small children.  A patient home who realizes she needs time to warm up to new people.  Olive had a tough start, but she’s now healthy, happy, and ready to find her forever family. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and protective companion, she’s ready to be your best friend for life!   Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. March 11, 2025, 3:45 pm

Story
Meet Lily ???Lily is a 9-year-old Great Pyrenees/Collie mix who’s found herself in a place she was never meant to be—a shelter. She was surrendered after the heartbreaking loss of her beloved owner, and she’s been quietly grieving ever since. Lily doesn’t understand why her human is gone or why she’s here, and the sadness in her eyes says it all.Despite her confusion and loss, Lily has remained the sweet, gentle soul she’s always been. She’s perfectly housebroken, gets along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats, and is so well-mannered that she can be left alone at home without a crate. She simply finds her spot, curls up, and waits patiently for your return.Lily is the definition of a couch potato. She’s not looking for adventures—just a soft place to land, a peaceful home, and someone to love her again. She misses the comfort of a quiet home and the bond she once had, and we know there’s someone out there who can give her that feeling of family once more. She doesn’t belong in a shelter. She belongs in a home, where she can rest her head and know she’s safe, cherished, and never alone again. Will you be the one to give Lily the second chance she so deeply deserves?
