Story
Percy is a 4 year old, full blooded, Great Pyrenees. My husband and I have had her since she was months old. We recently had a child, and it seems our daughter has become allergic to both our dogs in the house. It breaks our hearts, but we’re having to re home them both for the health of our child. Percy is fully house broken, and good with our other dog and our cat. She is micro chipped, up to date on her shots, and spayed.

Story
Harlee is 1 year and 3 months old. She is friendly with people but has to be watched with younger children due to size and jumping. She hasn’t been near many dogs nor any cats. She is very playful, talkative, and sassy. Overall she is a good, friendly dog, but due to living changes where dogs are not permitted, she needs a new home as soon as possible.

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  *Due to rescuer being very ill, all her dogs are in desperate need!!! Greetings! I'm Fluffy! My best friend, Poe, and I were allowed to wander the streets. Our owner just didn't care. I was pregnant at the time. Our rescuer begged for me to be able to come into rescue. So, our owner dumped me and unexpectedly and luckily dumped Poe too! I am a very pretty girl that is about three to four years old. I am mostly fluff and I weigh around eighty pounds. We are the friendliest duo and are exceptionally loving! We adore people and other doggies. We do love children but I can get excitable, so small children may get overwhelmed. We are true buddies. You will always find us hanging out together. We enjoy adventures and would follow you to the ends of the earth. All you have to do is make us yours! Love,Fluffy & Poe *Guest Posting**Discount for two!***Adoption Fee $275 for both If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you can't get it to work, tell us and we will email it to you.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. April 16, 2024, 10:26 am

Story
Often times we go in and on about our pets but sometimes it's best to allow the foster families to describe the perfect forever home for them. Here's what Michele would like to see for Doc.... Doc is officially finished with heartworm treatment! Now it’s time to find his forever home. Here is what I think would be perfect for him: a family home with at least one more playful dog and bigger kids (he still jumps when he is excited to see you, but we are working on that), fenced yard (his breed likes to wander), someone willing to take him on regular walks, someone willing to be patient with him, as he takes a minute to get comfortable with new people (he is shy, not aggressive). In return, you will get the sweetest, softest dog who loves nothing more than big hugs and belly rubs. I love this dog and am so proud of the progress he has made. He will make a great addition to a family. This is what we want for this sweet guy! He and his brother spent countless months at the shelter because no one had the time to spend teaching them about love and patience and kindness. Then Doc met Michele and Kip and he has become THE MOST AMAZING , loving, kind, gracious boy ! Doc is in a foster home in Memphis, Tn. If you would like to make him a part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Transport runs every weekend to the north east, leaving Memphis Tennessee at 6 AM Friday mornings. Transport is an additional $165. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
We’re fostering Molly for Animals Lives Matter Of East Texas, an 8 year old female Great Pyrenees. She was completely matted and smelled terrible! 2.5 hours of shaving later, she’s no longer matted, panting and rested easy. Molly has gained weight and strength, and has learned how to use a doggy door. She is vaccinated, crate trained and gets along with everyone and everything (adults, children, dogs, cats, etc.) PM us if you are interested in giving this senior girl a soft landing and loving forever home.
