Story
Loving, obedient, smart, curious, and adventure-ready? That’s Darla! A wonder dog through and through, this girl is great with other dogs, highly trainable, treat motivated, and is a cutie in a unique coat. One of my favorite things about Darla is how well balanced her energy is, if she gets excited, she is back to calm in just a moment, if she is a bit nervous- she gets curious, checks it out and just like that she is confident. Take a look at her in action then come back to read more- https://youtu.be/mCwsTJdbJdY Darla is so fortunate to be in a loving foster home while she waits for her forever family. This allows her to learn and practice all the best manners and skills a house dog needs. This also gives us a true front row seat to her personality. Her foster family has nothing but praise for her. From how easily she fit right in to her quick learning of everything. From house training to manners around meals, she is attentive to directions and consistently quick to master new skills. Thanks to that she is both house and crate trained! Her foster family shared that she has never had an accident in the house and sleeps through the night quietly in her crate. She often chooses the crate to sleep at night but on occasion she chooses a cozy dog bed. On those nights she has been perfect, sleeping peacefully through the night. Darla is estimated to be just over a year old, she weighs 53 lbs, and is likely a Pyrenees/Husky/Shepherd mix but we cannot guarantee age of breed given she is a rescue. Also, I strongly suspect she may be a dog/deer mix- she you see the speckles and spots that run down her back you will see why this is my suspicion. However and whatever she is, she has a gorgeous and unique coat. When she was introduced to other dogs she showed us a calm, friendly approach. We do know she has a playful side, she lives with another dog in her foster home and the two of them have a blast together. Unfortunately, on the day we were spending time with Darla the weather was rainy pretty much all day, which didn’t bring out the playful side in anyone. Despite that, no matter the energy of the other dog or where they met, she was calm and respectful in her approach and all together easy-going in their company. Darla would love a playmate, and enjoys having a companion to navigate the world alongside but given how quickly her confidence grows she is suited for only-dog life as well. A few toys, adventures with you, and walks around the block to greet the neighbors would be plenty to keep her happy and fulfilled! Darla’s ideal home would be one where hikes and walks are a regular occurence. A house with a yard would be best given her love of bouncing around outside and her occasional awooowooo’s. Her foster family shared that they would guess she has some Husky in her because she loves to “sing.” It is pretty cute and a expression she doesn’t use excessively. With a treat offered she will go right into focused-mode with an automatic sit and her full attention on you. That quality typically translates into a dog who trains with ease. Darla enjoys toys and can easily self-entertain. If you’re tired of playing- she doesn’t mind, she’ll just play with her toys by herself! Don’t worry, she didn’t mind sharing with the other dogs or handing it over when asked. Same with food, Darla loves food but is unbothered while sharing treats, dinner or having her bowl touched. Darla will need a cat-free home, we suspect she has never met a cat before so when introduced to one she wasn’t sure enough for us to feel confident she wouldn’t chase a cat or stress one out with her every interested approach. She’s super smart, easy company and full of so much loyal love! She’s playful but not too energetic to handle, lovey but not overly pushy about it, loyal but not too “velcro,” this girl is just the best of ALL worlds! She is 100% good dog, fluffy, beautiful and ready for a life of love! It is really impressive to see how she handles new environments, she may be uncertain but she is still at ease, takes it slow, curiously checks things out and checks in with her people. She only needs a few moments before she feels good and ready for anything. Darla is easy on leash, but prefers a harness. It didn’t take her any time to understand the leash so nothing is set in stone there, you can try both and see what you and her prefer together Darla, her soft kisses and playful love are ready for forever! If there is anything not covered here that you are curious about, please be in touch! Be are committed to ensuring Darla is the right fit for you and your life. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Story
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a pet cloud the size of a small horse? Meet Sarge. Sarge is the picture of calm confidence. A big, fluffy boy who doesn’t need much to be happy. True to his Great Pyrenees nature, he carries himself with a quiet dignity, content to simply be near those he loves. His presence is peaceful, his demeanor unshakable, and his loyalty unmatched. Sarge spent his visit simply existing and being beautiful, which, honestly, is more than enough. With his soft coat, steady eyes, and lazy-boy energy, he gave off the kind of peace that makes you want to slow down and sit beside him awhile. He didn’t seek the spotlight, but his gentle nature drew everyone in. We truly believe that Sarge is predominantly Great Pyrenees and about 2 years old. He gives off every inclination in demeanor and appearance that would lead to us making that assumption. But due to him being a rescue, age and breed are our best guesses and cannot be guaranteed. Observe the majesty of Sarge in the video below! https://youtu.be/104LjejdWWA He doesn’t rush to meet the world; instead, he watches it kindly, like a gentle guardian keeping quiet watch over his little corner. When he met our other doggies, he didn’t rush in a frenzy to get to know them. He just sniffed to gather the information he needed to know and let them be themselves as he stood watch. He would be a great addition to a pack of medium energy pups or equally as great being your one and only! With children, Sarge keeps that calm and steady attitude. He met our friend’s Kobe (4) and Cash (7) and allowed them to touch all over his face as the children were amazed at the glory of his big head. We believe that Sarge would be a great addition to a family with children due to his gentle nature. Even cats didn’t cause Sarge to break that steadfast character of his. Our housecat Biggie roamed the room as Sarge honestly just watched him with looks of approval. Sarge understands that all living things are to be respected and would be okay living in a home with dog savvy feline companions. As a true Pyrenees, Sarge needs space to stretch out, roam, and do his quiet patrolling. Apartment life wouldn’t suit him, he thrives in a home with a yard or land where he can move at his own pace. He’s not looking to run laps, but he does appreciate the freedom to explore and lounge under the open sky. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key best friend who brings calm to your chaos and comfort to your home, Sarge may be your perfect match. Is Sarge the missing piece of your family? Story
Meet Bailey Baby! She is what dreams are made of! Bailey is the very definition of pure puppy magic. She is the kind of little soul who makes you whisper "Oh my gosh, you are so cute" before you even realize you're saying it out loud. With a body soft as a cloud and a spirit just as gentle, Bailey brings light and joy into every room she steps into. We believe Bailey is a Pyrenees mix who is about 5 months old. She’s around 29 pounds and growing by the day! Due to her being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed. But honestly, we think she is predominantly an angel. Watch Bailey in all her beauty here! https://youtu.be/XTlMWbTsw6c This darling girl isn’t your typical whirlwind of puppy chaos, she’s calm, quiet, and simply radiant with sweetness. During her visit, she moved through the day with the softest steps and the kindest heart, content to sit beside the kiddos and soak up all the love they offered. She was as gentle with them as a breeze through the trees, already proving herself to be the kind of pup who belongs right at the heart of a family. Bailey adores affection. All she wants is to be held, kissed, and adored, which is perfect, because that’s exactly what everyone who meets her seems to want to do. Her boop-worthy nose, her precious puppy breath, her cuddly demeanor... it’s no wonder every single person who laid eyes on her wanted to scoop her up and take her home. She’s also a polite little lady. Bailey was unbothered by the resident housecat Biggie and simply chose baby snuggles over chase games. She’s been a sweet cuddle companion to her puppy friend Ace and would be a perfect addition to a home with a kind canine sibling. Because she’s expected to grow into a larger girl, due to that Pyrenees mix—she’ll thrive in a home with a yard to stretch those fluffy limbs. Bailey is a treasure. She’s that once-in-a-lifetime kind of puppy whose goodness just shines right through. She’s ready to fill someone’s world with quiet love, warm snuggles, and all the joy a puppy can bring. We were found under a house with our brave mama when we were just a couple of weeks old. Thankfully, some kind rescuers brought us to safety. Our mom is a beautiful Great Pyrenees, but our dad is a mystery! Whatever he was, he sure helped make us adorable. We’re a playful, loving bunch who enjoy wrestling with each other, chasing balls, and pouncing on stuffed toys. With our thick, fluffy coats, we love moving all the blankets aside to find the cool floor—smart, right? Yes, we shed, but think of it as “love glitter” we leave behind. When it’s dinner time, you’ll hear from us—we’re not shy about reminding you! After playtime, we all pile into our foster mom’s lap for cuddles. Yep, all eight of us. We’re healthy, happy, and ready to find our forever families. Could one of us be your perfect new family member?
