If you are interested in Duke, please fill out an application https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform** Meet Duke – A Sweet, Loyal Pup Looking for His Perfect Place to Shine Duke is a handsome, energetic 1-year-old pup (he turned one in December) with so much love to give and potential to grow. He’s a devoted companion who absolutely adores his people—especially our three young daughters—and he’s incredibly sweet and gentle with them. Duke is affectionate, smart, and has a playful, adventurous spirit. He gets along wonderfully with our female Bernese Mountain Dog and thrives when he has a doggy friend who’s calm and confident. While he’s been a great part of our family, we’ve learned that Duke really needs a more suitable environment to truly thrive. He’s become a bit too protective of our home and doesn’t get along well with the neighboring male dogs. He was neutered in March, and while that helped somewhat, Duke still needs structure, training, and the right kind of space. What Duke really needs is room to roam, a purpose, and a strong, confident leader. He would absolutely thrive in a home with acreage or even better—a farm! He loves being outside, staying busy, and having space to explore. Cap is a one year old 3/4 Great Pyrenees and 1/4 Pyrenean Mastiff. He is a gentle giant, and is incredible in the house and out. He loves kids and people in general. He spends most of his time outside. He is not a persistent barker when outside but always alerts to wildlife (deer, bobcat, coyotes). This alert barking has caused some issues with neighbors. He is quiet indoors and is a couch potato when inside. Looking for the right home for this special dog.

Has anyone seen a white bumble bee??? Us either!! Yet, here we are..... We are quite the pair, cute and big and lumbering around the rescue ;) We r not a bonded pair, but you could get quite alot of fun and hair with two of us... well even if you only adopt one of us. We are happy dogs, each of us have a sweet, cuddly kind of energy and we r ready for your couch. So if you are looking for a big fluffy friend, adopt one of us soon!! Just over a year old and weighing 65 pounds, Maggie is the perfect blend of youthful energy and eager intelligence. From the moment she arrived in her foster home, she impressed everyone with how quickly she learns. She already knows commands like sit, off, and leave it, and she loves showing off her skills for praise or treats. Maggie is also wonderfully adaptable. She took to using the doggie door within minutes, proving just how sharp and intuitive she is. Whether she’s exploring the yard, relaxing inside, or settling into her crate for rest time, Maggie handles transitions with ease and appreciates having predictable routines she can rely on. Social and gentle, Maggie gets along well with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends to play and interact with. She thrives in an environment where she can continue learning, bonding, and picking up new commands—training with her is not only easy but genuinely enjoyable thanks to how quickly she understands what’s being asked of her. Maggie does experience anxiety when left alone in the house, so she needs to be crated for her safety and comfort when unsupervised. She also becomes anxious during car rides, so at this time she is available only within Texas to avoid long transports that could overwhelm her. Maggie is a loving, intelligent companion who will blossom with a patient, committed family. She’s ready to bring joy, devotion, and her sweet spirit to a home that understands her needs and celebrates her wonderful strengths. Maggie is currently being fostered in a loving home in Seguin, TX, where she’s gaining confidence and practicing her manners every day. Story
Tandy is generally a sweet, playful boy. His genetics as a guardian are strong, and he loves to patrol his fenced in area and like a true pyrenees will bark at any passerby or leaf falling from a tree he doesn't agree with. Last March, Tandy had a knee injury the vet described as a freak accident that landed him with a luxating patella. We got him surgery and went through a multi month rehabilitation plan to get him back to proper health. Unfortunately since that surgery, his demeanor with us and our other animals has changed and he's become very prone to resource guarding and fighting with our other big dog. It has reached a point where we keep him largely separated from the other animals. Tandy would do best with someone experienced with large breed guarding dogs with strong personalities, who can be patient and positive working with him, and the most successful situation would probably be as the only animal in the house. Adults and kids would need to be savvy with guardian dogs.
