Meet Charlie! Charlie is an almost 2-year-old Lab mix looking for someone to share life’s adventures with. A bit of a serious boy by nature, he’s happiest outdoors exploring trails, sniffing every interesting scent, carrying his favorite stick, or simply hanging out with his people. Whether you’re hiking, gardening, or relaxing on the couch, Charlie just wants to be by your side. Charlie is smart, eager to learn, and already knows sit, down, leave it, and usually comes when called. He enjoys training, puzzle toys, and having a job to do. He’s fully house trained, has wonderful house manners, rides quietly in the car, and loves toys and a good game of fetch—bringing the ball back most of the time! As a proud Lab mix, Charlie also believes no home is complete without a little black dog hair. Consider it his way of making sure you’re never far from your best friend. Charlie has done well with well-matched medium and large dogs, but he doesn’t need another dog to be happy. Because he has a strong prey drive and gets excited around squirrels, rabbits, cats, and small dogs, he’ll do best in a home without small pets. Charlie is continuing to build confidence when home alone. After experiencing several changes early in life, he’s learning what it means to have consistency and a predictable routine. He’s making great progress with training, medication, and a patient family who helps him feel safe and secure. Charlie may bark when meeting new people because he takes his job as lookout seriously. Once he knows you’re a friend, his affectionate, loyal personality shines through. He forms deep bonds with his family and loves being included in everyday life. Charlie isn’t looking for a perfect family—he’s looking for his family. Someone who will appreciate his intelligence, continue helping him grow, and give him the stability he’s been missing. In return, you’ll gain a devoted companion who will be your loyal shadow, your adventure buddy, and your best friend. Miyazato, L 76068, R 54DHi, I’m Miya! I am a smart, playful, curious and inquisitive girl, and learned the routine in my foster home very quickly. I love ripping the guts out of squeaky toys! I can do stairs, and walk well with my pack. I can be distracted by all the things to see and sniff, and sometimes struggle with refocusing on the walk. I love getting up early, and have started instigating early morning play sessions with one of the other dogs I live with! Hooray! I hope you love getting up early too. I like meeting new people, but sometimes if there are a lot of people I can be a little shy. But that is easily fixed with TREATS. I love treats! I do have a very high prey drive, and want to chomp cats and squirrels and birds and small fluffy dogs, so I guess we need to work on that? I will accept my kennel, but I prefer to be part of the action always. Do you think I’d be a great addition to your home?
