Story
Miyazato, L 76068, R 54DHi, I’m Miya! I am a smart, playful, curious and inquisitive girl, and learned the routine in my foster home very quickly. I love ripping the guts out of squeaky toys! I can do stairs, and walk well with my pack. I can be distracted by all the things to see and sniff, and sometimes struggle with refocusing on the walk. I love getting up early, and have started instigating early morning play sessions with one of the other dogs I live with! Hooray! I hope you love getting up early too. I like meeting new people, but sometimes if there are a lot of people I can be a little shy. But that is easily fixed with TREATS. I love treats! I do have a very high prey drive, and want to chomp cats and squirrels and birds and small fluffy dogs, so I guess we need to work on that? I will accept my kennel, but I prefer to be part of the action always. Do you think I’d be a great addition to your home? Story
Flying Sabbath, L 71858, R 28DHi, I’m Sabbath! I love to snuggle with my foster brother, even if we ran into each other that one time when we were chasing a squirrel in the yard. (I love to chase squirrels!) I also love to play with toys, watch my food being prepared, beg for attention from the humans, and run around in the yard. I have been told that I am a messy drinker, which is a rude thing to say to a sophisticated older lady. I like to meet people and make friends, and I love to explore the neighborhood! I prefer to keep my people in my direct line of sight at all times, but if they leave, I will greet them very enthusiastically when they return. I like an early breakfast, but am learning to adjust my schedule. I am also working on my leash manners, but mostly I just want to be inside enjoying the sweet sweet AC. Do you think I’d be a great addition to your home? To see other hounds currently in our care please visit the Hounds in Our Care page on our website. DC Daisy Mae, L 76214, R 104BHi, I’m Daisy! I’m playful and curious, but also very shy. I will do best with a gentle and patient family who will take the time needed to help me get used to this big, scary new world–especially if they already have a resident hound who can help show me the ropes! I can go up and down stairs like a champ, I love playing with toys, lounging in the sun in the yard, and best of all frolicing with my foster greyhound brother. As long as there isn’t loud traffic or unexpected dogs or CHILDREN (children are absolutely terrifying!) walks are ok, but I reserve the right to change my mind at any moment. I am more of a cozy homebody than an intrepid explorer, and I enjoy looking at birds, squirrels, and bunnies from the safety of my yard. I do not particularly like my kennel or being left alone, but I do like dog beds and soft blankies. Do you think I’d be a great addition to your home? Story
KW Bonnie Parker, R 59B, L 73620Hi, I’m Bonnie Parker! Don’t let the fact that I’m named for a notorious criminal fool you, I’m really a nice, gentle girl! I love squeaky toys, walks, being outside, being with people, and ear scratches. In fact I love ear scratches so much that I will do a little moany purr when you hit that perfect spot! I am very friendly and happily accept love and pets from everyone I meet, especially if they know the magic ear scratch trick! I am currently living with another greyhound and a cat, and I like both of them just fine. I am curious about the neighbor dog, but we have not been formally introduced; I have also not really interacted with any dogs smaller than myself. I do have VERY STRONG OPINIONS about thunder: it is bad and I will bark at it! This is not always appreciated (rude) but I will stop after being reassured that everything is ok. Along those lines, it has been suggested that I might need some basic obedience training (rude, again), but I think I am perfect as I am. Do you think I would be a great addition to your home? Loyal Lolita, R 103E, L 75842Hi, I’m Lolita! I am a spicy jellybean who has definite opinions about All The Things, but I will thrive with someone who is willing to help me live my best jellybean life. I am learning to be a good girl in my kennel, but do tend to vocalize my feelings–I would rather not be in there, but I have been told it’s an important life skill to learn. I also have some space issues that I apparently “need to work on,” something about respecting boundaries? I love to cuddle, but sometimes it’s just too many feelings to feel all at once! I am getting better about walking on the leash and doing my business on the leash, but there are so many things that I need to stop and stare at, like bunnies and squirrels and leaves blowing around! I am a sweet and funny girl, I just need a patient and loving home with people who are willing to work with me. Do you think I’d be a great addition to your home?
