Story
CURLY Breed: hound-beagle mix Age: 1 year Weight: 55 pounds Adoption Fee: $275 Vetting Status: neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed and maintained on heartworm preventatives ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Curly is a super social, kissy, big guy. He adores all his doggie friends, large & small. Although he has not been tested with children, we suspect that he would absolutely love to have kids to play with! Curly originally came into rescue labeled a beagle/beagle mix & has grown into his puppy legs, proving to be more of a hound mix in size. He is crate trained, housetrained & OK on a leash.... though he would much prefer to run crazy in your fenced backyard. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CURLY is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore. An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link -- https://www.k9rescuees.org/info/adoption Veterinary and personal reference checks, and a home visit/meet-n-greet are required PRIOR to being approved to adopt. The time frame for completing this process depends largely on how quickly references respond, your vet office is able to speak to us (some want written permission first), your landlord or HOA (if applicable) confirms their approval for a pet, & how your schedule aligns with that of our volunteer(s) for the Home Visit. ~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE ~ All of our rescue members are volunteers with many obligations. While we may not be capable of immediate response, we will respond to all inquiries and application submissions as soon as possible. Thank you for thinking adoption!

Story
Rowdy is a little shy with new people. Shes great with all dogs she meets and would be best on a home with another dog to help her adjust. Rowdy is curious in new situations, but life up until recently, hasnt been kind to her..... so she will need time to get comfortable and then her true goofy nature will emerge! Like a butterfly, Rowdy is a much different pup than when she 1st came to us from the pound, with no hope of getting out :( UNTIL the rescue chick saw me and knew i was a diamond in the RUFF ;) Rowdy needs a patient home who will give her time to warm up, open up & trust. Older kids only would be best for her and a fully fenced yard is a must. Until she settles in she'll be an escape risk. An apartment would work for Rowdy as well. She is ready for her furever family!! Apply soon! Local adoption fee is $300(in TX)

Story
Courtesy Post: Meet Arlo ❤️ Arlo is a handsome 4-year-old Beagle/Pit Bull mix weighing about 60 pounds who has been a deeply loved member of his family's home since he was just 4 months old. This sweet, loyal boy is looking for a new beginning with someone who will appreciate the incredible companion he is. If Arlo could describe himself in three words, they'd be loyal, goofy, and affectionate. He absolutely loves cuddling, giving hugs, and being close to his favorite people. One of his family's favorite things about him is how incredibly soft he is—making every cuddle even better! He also has the funniest habit of sleeping upside down with a big smile on his face, guaranteed to make you laugh. Arlo has a heart that's as big as his personality. He's remarkably intuitive and seems to know when someone he loves is having a difficult day. More than once, he's sensed his owner crying from another room, rushed over, and quietly sat beside them to offer comfort. That's simply who Arlo is—a dog who loves his people with his whole heart. Around the house, Arlo is calm, well-mannered, house-trained, and crate-trained. His crate is his favorite place to relax, and he enjoys spending much of the day lounging on his bed, watching the world outside the window, or taking a peaceful nap. He knows an impressive list of commands, including sit, stay, down, wait, 'go to your room' (crate), and even 'bang bang' to play dead! He also loves using his nose in fun search games where treats are hidden for him to find. When it's time for fun, Arlo enjoys walks, hikes, running, and exploring every interesting scent along the trail. His favorite toys include his giant stuffed shrimp, turtle, ball, and Nylabones. He's not picky about treats either—he loves them all! Arlo adores adults and usually wants to greet new people with one of his signature hugs. He can be left alone while you're home without issue and settles nicely in his crate when his family is away. Like many sensitive dogs, Arlo thrives in a calm, predictable environment. As he has matured, he's become uncomfortable living with young children and has shown fear-based behaviors around them. Because of this, Arlo is looking for an adult-only home where he can relax and feel secure. His family wants potential adopters to know that he isn't seeking out conflict—he has simply shown that he is happiest without the stress of living with children. Arlo can also be selective with other animals. He has successfully lived with a 25-pound canine companion and generally does best with smaller dogs. With the right calm, respectful dog and slow introductions, he may also do well, but he would be equally happy soaking up all of the attention as your one and only pet. He does best with an experienced handler on walks since he can react when other animals are nearby. His ideal home is a quiet one with patient, understanding people who will continue helping him build confidence. A fenced yard would be wonderful, although an adopter committed to giving him several daily walks would also make him happy. Arlo is neutered and healthy aside from some mild anxiety, which is easily managed with calming chews. His rabies vaccine is current. This has been an incredibly difficult decision for Arlo's family. They love him dearly, but they know he deserves a home where he can feel completely comfortable and thrive. They are committed to finding him the perfect match—a gentle, patient person who will cherish his affectionate nature, appreciate his goofy personality, and receive the unwavering loyalty he gives so freely. If you're looking for a devoted best friend who will greet you with hugs, make you smile every day, and be by your side through life's ups and downs, Arlo may be the dog you've been waiting for.
