Story
If you`re craving a pup to fill that hole in your family - Bagel is gonna be the perfect fit! This handsome 2-year-old Beagle mix is the kind of dog who fits in just about anywhere. Whether your perfect day includes hiking the trails, tossing toys in the backyard with the kids, or relaxing on the couch for a movie marathon, Bagel is ready to join in. He`s especially head-over-paws for children and will happily spend hours following them around, playing outside, or simply being part of whatever adventure they`re having. He also gets along wonderfully with other dogs, adjusting his play style to match their personalities, and his friendly nature makes everyone feel like they`re already part of his pack. Basically...this Bagel is EVERYTHING!Like any true Beagle, Bagel believes life is best experienced one sniff at a time. He walks nicely on a leash but can get a little enthusiastic when an interesting scent catches his attention, and every now and then you`ll hear his classic Beagle bay when he`s especially excited. He`s doing great with crate training, is almost completely house trained, and is learning basic commands like `sit` and `stay.` His biggest work-in-progress is remembering that shoes and other household items aren`t chew toys when he gets bored, so he`ll do best with plenty of exercise, enrichment, and appropriate chew toys to keep his busy mind occupied. Bagel has completed treatment for heartworm and is feeling great - he`ll simply need routine follow-up testing as part of his recovery. If you`re toast after seeing this cute face - and we guess you are - order up one Bagel today! If you’d like to take this pupper home, please fill out an adoption application at this link – https://animalalliesrescue.org/dog-application. The adoption fee is $350 and covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they’ve already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They’ve been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on necessary vaccinations, including Rabies and DHLPP. They have also been tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases and have started heartworm and flea preventative medication. Some of our dogs have even undergone extensive medical care to ensure they’re ready for a happy, healthy life with you!

CURLY Breed: hound-beagle mix Age: 1 year Weight: 55 pounds Adoption Fee: $275 Vetting Status: neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed and maintained on heartworm preventatives ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Curly is a super social, kissy, big guy. He adores all his doggie friends, large & small. Although he has not been tested with children, we suspect that he would absolutely love to have kids to play with! Curly originally came into rescue labeled a beagle/beagle mix & has grown into his puppy legs, proving to be more of a hound mix in size. He is crate trained, housetrained & OK on a leash.... though he would much prefer to run crazy in your fenced backyard. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CURLY is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore. An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link -- https://www.k9rescuees.org/info/adoption Veterinary and personal reference checks, and a home visit/meet-n-greet are required PRIOR to being approved to adopt. The time frame for completing this process depends largely on how quickly references respond, your vet office is able to speak to us (some want written permission first), your landlord or HOA (if applicable) confirms their approval for a pet, & how your schedule aligns with that of our volunteer(s) for the Home Visit. ~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE ~ All of our rescue members are volunteers with many obligations. While we may not be capable of immediate response, we will respond to all inquiries and application submissions as soon as possible. Thank you for thinking adoption!

Story
Meet Canela! Canela is a 7-month-old Beagle mix who I adopted from the Brandywine SPCA. She’s a sweet, affectionate, and playful puppy who loves people, toys, treats, and exploring her surroundings. She has a gentle personality, enjoys relaxing after playtime, and is always happy to be around her family. I’m looking for a loving home that has the time, patience, and attention to help her continue to grow into an amazing companion. This decision has been incredibly difficult, but with a baby on the way, I know she deserves a family that can give her the time and care she needs. Canela is friendly, loving, curious, and loyal. She would make a wonderful addition to a family or anyone looking for a young dog to love for years to come.

Rowdy is a little shy with new people. Shes great with all dogs she meets and would be best on a home with another dog to help her adjust. Rowdy is curious in new situations, but life up until recently, hasnt been kind to her..... so she will need time to get comfortable and then her true goofy nature will emerge! Like a butterfly, Rowdy is a much different pup than when she 1st came to us from the pound, with no hope of getting out :( UNTIL the rescue chick saw me and knew i was a diamond in the RUFF ;) Rowdy needs a patient home who will give her time to warm up, open up & trust. Older kids only would be best for her and a fully fenced yard is a must. Until she settles in she'll be an escape risk. An apartment would work for Rowdy as well. She is ready for her furever family!! Apply soon! Local adoption only $200, in TX

Story
Meet Janie! 7 years old | Reisterstown, MD Some dogs bounce back quickly after change… Janie is quietly learning how to heal. After losing both her dog sibling and, shortly after, her beloved owner, Janie’s entire world changed. Everything familiar — her home, routine, and sense of security — disappeared. Now, this gentle girl is looking for a soft place to land and a family willing to help her feel safe again. Janie is the definition of a sweet, easygoing companion. She may not immediately climb into your lap for attention, but she has slowly started seeking out gentle affection on her own terms — and those little moments feel incredibly special. Once she trusts you, her quiet love shines through. Janie’s Favorites & Personality •Low-energy, calm companion •Loves car rides •Enjoys chewing on bones and frozen Kongs •Likes soft toys and cozy naps •Gentle, kind, and quietly affectionate The Basics • Mostly house trained • Dog-friendly (and would love a dog companion!) • Great with kids, including visiting nieces and nephews • Walks nicely on leash • Happy to sleep in bed with her people Janie truly seems happiest with another dog nearby and people around more often. She currently spends long stretches crated and manages, but it causes her anxiety — she would thrive in a home where someone is home more frequently or has a flexible/work-from-home schedule. Janie’s Dream Home • A fenced yard to safely explore and sniff around • A friendly resident dog for companionship • A family home more often than not • Patient adopters willing to let her settle in at her own pace Janie doesn’t need much — just kindness, patience, and a family willing to give her time to bloom again. If you’re looking for a calm, loving companion who will quietly steal your heart, Janie may be your perfect match.

Story
The best things in life are worth waiting for - and Charlie is no exception. After being found abandoned in Louisiana with his littermates, at just 3 weeks old, Charlie has been taking life one brave step at a time.At about 3.5 months old, Charlie is a short-legged, long-bodied cutie with a gentle heart. New people and new situations can be very overwhelming for him, so he’s looking for a patient adopter who understands that trust is earned, not rushed. Once Charlie feels safe, his goofy personality starts to shine. He loves belly rubs, sniffing around the yard, snack time, and quietly hanging out with the people he loves.Charlie absolutely benefits from having another confident, well-adjusted dog around. He takes his cues from canine friends and becomes much braver when he has a buddy to show him the ropes. He’s submissive with other dogs and enjoys playing once he’s comfortable. He’s also cat-friendly - in fact, if a cat tells him to back off, he happily listens! For now, Charlie’s ideal home is a quiet, adult-only home with a secure fenced yard and at least one stable, confident dog to help him continue building confidence. His crate is his safe place, and he’s doing wonderfully with house training when kept on a consistent schedule and crated when unsupervised.Charlie isn’t looking for someone to “fix” him. He’s looking for someone who will celebrate every little victory, let him move at his own pace, and show him that the world can be a kind place. Watching a shy dog learn to trust is one of the most rewarding journeys there is - and Charlie is worth every step.Charlie is ready for the next chapter of his story - he just needs someone willing to write it with him.If you’d like to take Charlie home, please fill out an adoption application at this link – https://animalalliesrescue.org/dog-application. The adoption fee is $400 and covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like this one for their forever homes.
