WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🎀✨ Meet Cindy Lou — Your Future Walking, Wagging Tail Bundle of Joy ✨🎀 At just a year old, Cindy Lou is already proving she’s less “puppy” and more full-blown heart thief. With her stunning reddish and black coat, bright amber eyes, and joyful spirit, she looks very much like a Harrier/German Shepherd mix. What that really means? Brains, beauty, loyalty, and just the right dash of playful sass. Cindy Lou is sweet, affectionate, playful, and delightfully goofy — the total package. She adores her people (big and small), though she’s still mastering the fine art of containing her enthusiasm when love is involved. Because she’s young and energetic, a home with older kids would be ideal — especially the kind who want a backyard buddy to chase, run, and burn off zoomies with. And speaking of zoomies… Cindy Lou absolutely loves Glacier and would thrive with a canine sibling. She would do best in a home with another friendly, confident dog to wrestle, romp, and share adventures with. She’s happiest when she has both her humans and a four-legged best friend by her side. Outdoorsy? Even just a little? Cindy Lou is ready. She’s got that “Where are we going next?” energy wrapped in curiosity and confidence. Ranch walks? Check. Trails? Absolutely. Puddle splashing like it’s an Olympic sport? Gold medalist. Off leash, she checks in beautifully — loyal and tuned in, like she genuinely wants to be part of your team. After spending far too much of her young life in rescue, Cindy Lou is more than ready for the good stuff: A home. A routine. A snack schedule she can rely on. A couch she can dramatically flop onto after a hard day of being adorable. 🌟 Cindy Lou’s Highlights: • 1 year old (DOB 2/24/25) • 60 lbs • Gorgeous Harrier/German Shepherd mix • Great with people & other dogs • Would do best with a canine sibling • Likely best with older kids due to playful energy • Smart, social, affectionate (Velcro level: elite) • Adventure buddy by day, champion snuggler by night If you’re looking for a loyal, lively, backyard-chasing, dog-loving best friend who will fill your days with laughter and your home with joy, Cindy Lou is ready to prance straight into your heart. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org — Cindy Lou is ready to start her forever story with you. 🐾💖

Adoption Fee Covered + Free Training! Thanks to a generous supporter, this pet's adoption fee is fully covered — and OPH is including six virtual training sessions with a certified trainer in the first 60 days to help you start off strong together! Meet Nora – The Pocket-Sized Cuddlebug with a Gentle Spirit Currently fostered in Silver Spring, MD With her beautiful chocolate and white coat, long silky ears, and soft eyes that speak volumes, Nora is the very picture of understated elegance. But don’t let her quiet arrival fool you - this sweet, shy girl is on a journey of transformation, and with the right person by her side, she’s bound to bloom. Nora is wary of men so would flourish in an all female household. Personality & Energy - Timid but loving – Nora is quite shy at first, as well as cautious around new situations and strangers. Once she warms up - she bonds very quickly, shows how big her heart is, and follows you everywhere! - Calm demeanor – She prefers short gentle activity or lounging close to her person. - Affectionate and clingy – She bonds deeply and wants nothing more than to be by your side (or on your lap if you let her!). Home Life & Compatibility - House-trained – Nora is doing great with regularly scheduled potty breaks and has a natural preference to potty outside. She will need continued training, she is very treat-motivated and responds well to positive reinforcement. She is eager to please her people! - Crate-trained... sort of – Nora tolerates the crate but would prefer not to be left alone. She settles much better when she’s near her people. At first, she welcomes the crate as her safe place, but as she becomes more acclimated to her new home, the less she wants to be crated. - Lap guardian – She may growl softly if another dog tries to interrupt her snuggle time. She’s not aggressive, just gently possessive. - Dogs – Nora enjoys the company of other dogs of all sizes with a similar demeanor. She occasionally runs zoomies but spends most of her time lounging by her humans. - Cats and kids – Unknown, but Nora would likely do best in an easygoing, quieter home with adults. Training & Growth - Learning Off, Stay, No, and responding well. Nora gently jumps on her people for attention. - Wants to please and will thrive with calm guidance and positive reinforcement. Very treat-motivated! - Still discovering toys and play - her inner puppy came out a few weeks into her foster home. Ideal Home Nora dreams of a peaceful life where she can tag along with her person, lounge in sunspots, and be the loyal little shadow she was born to be. Transitions can be a scary time, and she will need a patient family with a calm household who will give her time to feel safe and come out of her shell. She would not do well in an apartment or urban setting, and she would benefit from a home with a secure fence. She would also benefit from someone who is home more often than not, as she prefers not to be alone, but mostly she just wants someone patient and gentle who will let her unfold at her own pace. Nora is the kind of dog who shows devotion in the purest way — by never leaving your side. Whether walking from room to room or settling down to rest, she follows faithfully, a constant shadow of love and loyalty. Nora is looking for her forever family! Is that with you? Click "apply for adoption" to get your family started! Included Veterinary Care: - Up to date on vaccinations for her age - Spayed - Microchipped - Heartworm preventative - Flea and tick preventative - Worm/parasite treatments

Story
Meet Cyrus Cyrus is a 3 yr old tricolor Beagle with a gentle soul, a curious nose, and the kind of calm and easygoing nature that makes him an absolute pleasure to be around from day one. He is friendly, sweet, and quietly wonderful in a way that sneaks up on you and settles right into your heart before you even realize it has happened. He came from a hoarding situation that did not give him the start he deserved, but you would never know it from the dog he is today. Cyrus is making progress every single day and approaching his new life with a curiosity and openness that speaks volumes about who he is at his core. He is not defined by where he came from. He is defined by how gently and willingly he is moving forward. Cyrus loves toys, loves food, and is motivated by both in a way that makes training a genuine joy. He walks nicely on leash, is crate trained, and actually enjoys going into his crate, settling in calmly with only a few minutes of conversation at night before he quiets down and goes to sleep. He does well when left alone and has a steady and contented temperament that makes him easy to live with and easy to love. He is still working on his house training, occasionally marking indoors, and will need some patient oversight and consistency to help him get the rest of the way there. He is making great progress and with the right guidance he will get it sorted completely. Cyrus is wonderful with other dogs, warm and friendly with new people, and has the kind of gentle calm demeanor that would make him a lovely companion for children. His experience with cats is unknown so a careful introduction would be wise. A fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus for a Beagle who loves to sniff and explore the world at his own curious pace. Cyrus is sweet, he is easy, and he is ready. Any home that welcomes him in is going to wonder very quickly how they ever got along without him.

Story
Current Location: York, PA Hello! My name is Baxton! Baxton is a sweet, gentle Beagle boy who is just starting to settle into foster life. He’s been incredibly quiet and well-behaved so far, even sleeping peacefully through the night in his crate. Baxton is still recovering from being neutered, so he’s having a little trouble getting fully comfortable—but he’s taking it all in stride. Despite that, he’s already showing great habits! He easily goes up and down steps and is doing a wonderful job taking care of his business outside. As he continues to heal and adjust, we’re excited to learn more about his personality. Stay tuned for updates as Baxton comes out of his shell! This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read about heartworm disease here: Read more about heartworm disease at https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics
