Penny is a senior beagle who came to OBHR from a local shelter who was seeking a rescue because Penny was thought to be pregnant! Ultrasound and X-rays confirmed great news! Penny is not pregnant! She does however have an old lady pooch of a belly and she has obviously had pups in the past! She is scheduled for a spay on June 25 and will be ready for a new home soon after! She is otherwise in great health and a very happy girl who loves to play and snuggle! She sleeps through the night ok and has done fine in her crate. She has not had an accident in her foster home so appears to be house trained. Penny is guessed to be around 10 years old but still has plenty of play in her! She is being fostered in Columbus.  Adoption Process: To meet one our dogs you must first fill out our application on our website ohiobassetrescue.com. Once submitted one of our volunteers will reach out to you. Upon approval you will be given an approval code to email us at ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com. Approvals are good for 6 months for any current or future dogs. After 6 months you will be directed to fill out an updated application. Please note we only process applications where the adopter lives in OH, IN, KY, PA, WV, lower MI. Adopters must be willing to travel to meet the dog they are adopting. Dogs locations are listed on their profile description on our website. Dogs are NOT all located in Brookville, that is our mailing address. Frankie and Stella are two 7 1/2 year-old sister Basset hounds that came to OBHR after their owner had to go into an assisted living home. Whereas we would like to keep them adopted together, we know that is not always a possibility and can separate them if need be. Both are house trained and completely vetted and ready for new homes! Stella can have a little bit of food aggression but other than that both dogs are fine! They are not cat friendly. They are currently being fostered east of Columbus area. My name is Henry and I’m single and ready to mingle!  A little bit about me: I’m 5 years old and guessed to be a basset beagle something mix! I had a mom who loved me dearly and took fantastic care of me! So I’m healthy, well mannered and house trained! She unfortunately got really sick and moved somewhere where she couldn’t take care of me. So she called the good folks at OBHR to help me find a new loving home! I’m fixed, up to date and ready to go!  Now about you: I need a loving family with a nice fenced in yard! I love to snuggle so be willing to let me up on the furniture and bed! That’s pretty much it! My old mommy would love an update when I find a new home, she is so worried about me and wants to make sure I’m safe and happy!  Basic details: my adoption fee is $300 and endless kisses! To me not my foster mom, she’s more afraid of people than I am! I’m crashing at her place near Dayton and she has other dog I’m good with! I haven’t been around cats but so laid back I shouldn’t be a problem!
