She came to us as a stray from a local shelter. She is a very sweet and active dog who loves to run and play! She will need a home with a fenced in yard. Annie follows the other dogs in the foster home to go outside and potty, and she does very good in a crate when her foster family is not home. She has not been tested around cats but does great with all of the other dogs in the house. She is spayed and up-to-date on all of her shots and ready for a new home. Her adoption fee is $300.She weighs approximately 40 pounds. Annie is currently being fostered in the Dayton area! Strawberry very sweet and affectionate. Strawberry is being rehomed because she can not be trusted around toddlers or babies. Because she can’t be trusted around them, she is often separated from the family, and I know she doesn’t like that, nor it is fair. She is a sweet and very intelligent dog. She is up to date on all core vaccines, and her teeth were cleaned within the last year. She is fully house trained, and she makes a great indoor dog. Vets have always assumed she was a beagle lab. She is 11; however, the vet says she is very healthy! She is a naturally more anxious dog, but she does very well once she warms up to someone. Her ideal home is a quiet home with an owner or family who can spend time with her. Nothing means more to her than being petted and given a treat. She is a more anxious dog when she leaves the home. Hi I'm Merlin! I'm a little shy but once you get to know me I'm as sweet as can be. I'm around 6 years old and 45 lbs, and I would do best with a simple, routine life without too much excitement. In fact, I could spend almost all day on the couch with my head on your shoulder. I am vision impaired but once you help me learn where everything is, I do just fine navigating on my own- I'm even crate trained and enjoy having a crate as my "home base". I am perfect with cats and dogs, and would really love a dog friend to help me continue building my confidence. I do need a fenced in yard at my forever home, being on leash is tough for me until I feel super safe and secure. If you're a homebody with a little bit of patience and a gentle soul, I would be the perfect companion for you and I am sure to give you all the love you'll ever need. She came to us when her Former Owner had to go into assisted living. Daisy is a very sweet gal who likes to spend her day laying in the backyard and soaking up the sunshine! She would prefer a home with a fenced in backyard. Daisy weighs 64 pounds and according to the vet could use to lose about five more! She is fine with other dogs, has not been cat tested, we are not sure how she does in a crate because frankly, she has been perfectly fine without using one! She is house broken, up-to-date on her shots, spayed, and recently had surgery on her eye to remove a growth. She does have a minor deformity on one of her legs, but we had it x-rayed and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it! It is just a very basset crooked paw! Daisy is currently being fostered in the Dayton area. Her adoption fee is $300. Adoption Process: To meet one our dogs you must first fill out our application on our website ohiobassetrescue.com. Once submitted one of our volunteers will reach out to you. Upon approval you will be given an approval code to email us at ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com. Approvals are good for 6 months for any current or future dogs. After 6 months you will be directed to fill out an updated application. Please note we only process applications where the adopter lives in OH, IN, KY, PA, WV, lower MI. Adopters must be willing to travel to meet the dog they are adopting.
