Then Vicky (or 'Victory') might be your kitten!   Sweet little Vicky loves her mealtimes and playtimes! She tends to be slightly independent girl who can keep herself quite occupied at times with her cats toys or looking out the window. During her more snuggly moments, Vicky enjoys coming to lay near or against her person for a good nap. She also sometimes likes to be held for prolonged periods. Vicky sometimes gives kitty kisses by licking your hand or your face.   Vicky really loves a good game of hunting wand toys that she can 'catch'. She has especially enjoyed wands with feathers on the end and a wand toy with a combo crinkle ball/feather. It's her favorite way to workout! Often after a good session, she then drags her catch to hide if for safe keeping under a bed or a couch, cutely growling to let everyone know it is HER catch and she is not sharing! But when she's ready for you to move the wand again she will let you know by mewing for your attention.   When she gets excited - usually as you bring her a meal! - she likes to squeak and mew.   Vicky is also a 'unicorn' kitty in many physical ways. Her orange fur is a color more typically associated with male cats. She also has very unique little paws! She is a polydactyl kitty, meaning she has extra toes to love on her feet. She even has a little extra bone nubbin on the bottom of one back foot. One of her front paw nails is chronically extended as well and does not retract. So good to keep at least this one nail trimmed to avoid it getting snagged on things. She may also have some version of dwarf-ism on her front two legs making them both shorter than normal kitty limbs.   Vicky has slightly wonky gait due to a suspected congenital issue. This manifests itself in two ways. First, when she walks she sometimes will have a little extra rolling sashay motion in her hip area à la Marilyn Monroe. Secondly, when she jumps up or down, it's often not a smooth process and she's prone to struggling a bit to get up or 'splatting' on the way down. She also cannot seem to climb very high so tends to prefer the middle level of taller cat trees. Several vets have examined her including a neurologist. This condition is not believed to be progressive and should not degrade over time - what you see currently is what you get. However, the funny gait does limit her ability to jump up and down properly on a consistent basis. For this reason, it would not be safe for Vicky to be allowed outside since she could not always easily jump up and away if needed from danger. Anyone considering adopting her should be committed to please keeping her indoors-only for her safety.  Adoption Center: (415) 506-6225 The Marin Humane Society 171 Bel Marin Keys Blvd., Novato, California 94949 Email: adoptions@marinhumanesociety.orgMay 16, 2024, 12:20 pm

He loves to play until he is panting tired (sometimes jumping off walls chasing his wand toy), and he makes quick work of his food and treat puzzles (handsome AND smart!).   Wade is a busy, social cat--he wants to be around his people and greets us with leg rubs while enjoying a few pets. He's pretty darn cute, too, being completely white with a pink nose and toes (they turn extra pink when he's playing hard!). Although he looks super snugglable when he's rolling around and being adorable, he really only likes limited petting. Because he can overstimulate, Wade is looking for a cat-experienced adult household that can read his signals. He may take some time to adjust in his new home, but give him time and plenty of things to do and soon he'll be loving his new home and family! Each have some vision issues and are a bit shy, but these older kittens will flourish with patient, cat savvy people who will start them out in a small space. They are sound sensitive, so they would do best in a calm, quiet home. Once they feel comfortable, Kylo and Astoria will come to you for pets with purrs. Kylo loves laps once he knows you. Astoria likes to be near you and will hold her head up for gentle pets. They both love enrichment, including boxes, treat puzzles, small toys that they can carry around, and the wand toy. Because of Astoria's poor vision, she follows the wand toy best when it makes a little sound when dragged on the ground. We hope you can open your heart to give these wonderful special needs kitties a home!  Adoption Center: (415) 506-6225 The Marin Humane Society 171 Bel Marin Keys Blvd., Novato, California 94949 Email: adoptions@marinhumanesociety.orgMay 16, 2024, 12:20 pm
