Story
Meet Gus!  Gus is a 16 yr old super senior Maltese who came to RMG after his mom had to be moved into memory care. Aside from having some apparent hearing loss, though, you would never know Gus is a whopping 16 yrs old! He’s extremely spry for his age and in great health. Gus’ previous family did report that he had had some life long anxiety issues, but he had also always been the only pet in the home. Ever since he joined RMG and has been in a foster home with other dogs and cats, we have seen absolutely zero signs of anxiety of any sort. This is one happy fella! So for that reason, we will be looking for a home with another dog for Gus - preferably another chill senior who would enjoy a companion to roam the yard with and then snuggle up for a nice nap. Even at 16 yrs old, we have no doubt that Gus still has a lot of life left to live! Interested in being a part of that amazing life? Story
Dusty is ten months old. We purchased Dusty from a Family who breeds Havanese Puppies. My wife and I are both 70. Because she is battling cancer and I have a heart condition, we can no longer effectively handle two dogs. Our plan is to continue to TRY to successfully handle Brownie, Dusty's sibling, who is also 10 months old. We feel that we have a better change of successfully handling one Puppy as opposed to two. Dusty is very lovable, attentive, and playful. He loves to take walks and run in the backyard.

He's smart, gentle, playful and very loving. Goes to doggy daycare 1 day a week and loves it. Gets along great with other dogs. He's very expressive and always happy. He'd be fine with most any person though he's fairly high energy so he will need someone who can run and play with him. He loves playing fetch. He's housetrained and leash trained. He's always up for an adventure. Great on car rides. Adopted 9 yrs ago and lives with his family - 2 adults & 2 children under 5. 1 yr old is afraid of Chewie. The older child has grown up with Chewie and has a close relationship him. The younger child's fear is creating some tension in the home.
