We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. Flopsy Havanese Male Location: Decatur, IL Flopsy is a sweet, somewhat shy boy who loves to play and cuddle equally. He is learning the finer points of playing fetch outside and when he is done he just walks away. He is showing signs of being treat motivated and follows the pack when it is bedtime in his crate. He can be a little shy and needs reassurance from his fosters that noises and chaos are ok! He has a lot of learning and experiences to catch up on. With a confident canine companion to show him how, we know he will grow into the happiest boy and bring joy to a lucky family. Flopsy is being crate trained in his foster home and does very well at night. During the day, he is for some short bursts of time and is still adjusting to this period of separation from his fosters (human and four legged). His snuggle puppy helps! He is also potty training and learning how to do his business outside. Regular grooming will be required throughout his life, including professional grooming approximately every 6 weeks with consistent brushing in between. He has been seen by the veterinarian and is perfectly healthy with no concerns. He is microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and has been neutered. Adoption fee: $400 Applications are processed in 7–10 business days. An approved application is required before a meet and greet. All family members, including resident dogs, must attend, and adopters must travel to Decatur IL. We do not provide transportation. If flying home with your new pet, Flopsy must ride in the cabin with his family; cargo flights are not permitted. Young adult dogs are a lifetime commitment of 15+ years. If at any point Flopsy cannot remain with his adopter, he must be returned to Leia’s Hope Canine Rescue. Applications and additional information can be found at leiashope.org.
