NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL JUNE (OR LATER) DUE TO POSSIBLE PREGNANCY. I am a Havanese breeder who has decided to retire from breeding. I was never able to give Phoebe the time and attention she needed and therefore she is very shy. She has some separation anxiety and often barks when left alone. She is not potty trained or fixed. She needs someone who has time to spend with her and train her. She is shy and fearful of strangers so her new owner needs to have time, patience and experience with socializing & training dogs. No kids. She seems to enjoy the company of other non-aggressive small dogs and having the company of another dog helps her anxiety. Not currently UTD on vaccines but willing to get her UTD before adoption. No known physical issues. Not AKC registered but she is Embark DNA breed and health tested. Recently groomed. Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee.
