Chester LOVES playing fetch and will even jump into the pool and swim to get his ball back. He turns 9 in December but is still very active and playful. He also is trained very well and loves to cuddle.

Hi y'all, I'm Maggie! I am a five year-old 12 pound Havanese who was released when the commercial breeder no longer had a need for me. I am so happy! I am done breeding puppies and I hope never to live with one again LOL. I came to the rescue shaved down to my skin. Check out my first picture, yikes! But with proper care and nutrition, my coat has begun to come in and it is beautiful! How cool are my eyebrows! In case you don't know, Havanese have a double coat and require regular grooming about every six weeks. I am so excited to be with a family who will make sure I am treated like the queen that I am. Havanese are loyal companions, sometimes called Velcro dogs, and I am no exception. I like to be everywhere my foster mom is. Truly I just want to be near her and to be showered with her love. Due to my life in a commercial mill, I am cautious when I first meet people and I startle at loud noises and quick movements. But I recover quickly. I am smart. I caught onto crate training pretty quickly. I currently sleep in my crate at night next to my foster mom's bed. Also, I've been doing really well with house training although regression is common in a new home. I have several fur siblings, both younger and older, in my foster home. I prefer the company of an older gentleman although I like the older ladies too. I am not interested in living in a home with a puppy or a young dog that will jump in my face and be rude! Likewise, any children in my furever home should be 12+ and be dog savvy. My foster mom has a big yard and I like to run and explore. I don't have much experience yet being on a leash but I'm willing to try. I am a pretty chill lady who just wants to be near her person, run outside a bit and maybe play with a friend now and again. She also had a dental cleaning when she was spayed and did have a few extractions. She has recovered well. She is being fostered in Collegeville, Montgomery County, and all potential adopters should be prepared to travel to the foster's home with all resident pups for a meet and greet.
