Story
This sweet boy is still looking for his forever family! Are you the one. Jeb – (Beloved Friend) - the meaning of his name is so fitting to him. He is a little dog (12 lbs.) looking for his beloved forever friend and family. Jeb is a 3-year-old Havanese Poodle mix. He is very shy around new people, yet once he gets to know you, he is so lovable and just wants to be by your side or next to you wherever you are. He may not be perfect, and he is still learning the basics of being a family dog, but what he lacks in training he makes up for with his loving heart and gentle spirit. Jeb is 90% potty trained, so he will need a patient family who understands that learning takes time. He does well with a consistent routine and regular trips outside. He walks well on a leash so a fenced in yard is not a requirement for his new home. He currently enjoys having access to a fenced-in-yard, but he is also happy to head out for a walk with his person. With patience, consistency and positive reinforcement, Jeb is sure to continue making progress. Jeb is not a fan of the crate but will go in with a treat and does settle. He is normally in the crate 4 hours twice a week and when his foster mom has to run errands. He sleeps through the night but is in the bed with his Foster Mom where he loves to cuddle. Jeb has a slight heart murmur that is currently not requiring any medication. His adopters should continue with routine veterinary care and follow their veterinarian's recommendations for monitoring. Jeb is neutered, had a dental with some teeth removed, microchipped and up to date on all his shots. He is on flea, tick and heartworm preventatives and must continue at his new home. Jeb is being fostered in York, PA so approved applicants and their family and resident dogs will have to travel to York for a meet and greet before being approved for adoption. Jeb is hoping that his forever family will see past the things he still needs to learn and see the loving soul waiting to become their best friend. Could you be the person Jeb has been waiting for? If so, please fill out an application for adoption on our website. www.zoeshouserescue.com Zoe’s House Inc. Kennel license #9117 P.O. Box 2372 Reading, PA 19608

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.A Letter From Joy's Foster MomDear Prospective Joy Adopter,   I wanted to write this letter to you to make it a bit more personal because this little girl is just so darn special. I hope that you will agree after learning more about her.   It breaks my heart when I think of the first 6 years that this little Havanese spent in a kennel and used for breeding purposes only. I am the first person that has shown her love and the first person she has loved. When I say love, I mean she has quickly and wholeheartedly given me her complete devotion. As I type this, she is as usual as close to me as she can get. At any time that I need to find her I just have to look down and there she is, staring up at me adoringly. Despite her rough history, Joy usually has a big smile o her face. She is 11 pounds of love and is striking with her black on white markings!   Having been exposed to limited life experiences everything is new to her! She has learned that she does enjoy car rides and walks nicely on a leash. She is working hard on house manners. Until she understands where she must go to potty I am using girl doggie diapers on her, keeping her on a schedule and praising her when mission is accomplished. Believe it or not Joy hasn’t learned the joy of eating treats. She just doesn’t get the different smells and textures. Since she never had to do steps learning how is proving to be a challenge for her. After trying so hard she has finally mastered the ONE step to get into the house. Yay! The rest will come.   Though I do not have a cat, my friend rescues them and allows me to “cat test” my fosters. Joy was not impressed and just ignored them. She immediately was welcomed into my pack of 5 dogs that are small and large and male and female. She is enthralled with the TV set as we watch reality shows together each night.     She is good with my husband as well as visiting children. I do not think there is a mean bone in her body. She was so patient as we had to work to get the knots out so we could clip her down and bathe her.     Joy can be put into a crate but will let you know that she isn’t happy with the situation. She will quiet down. She makes a great bed buddy and couch snugglier.   If you are not familiar with this breed you should know that 14-16 years is their lifespan. Havanese are low shedders and good for people with pet allergies. They are highly trainable and have minimum health issues. They just need moderate exercise with short walks and some play time.   I hope that you get a feel that Joy is truly a joy! As of August 21 she will be spayed, UTD on vaccines, on heart worm preventative and is microchipped. If you want to be considered to be Joy’s forever home please fill out an application today! Someone is going to be very lucky to be chosen as her forever home!   Sincerely,    Joy’s Haven to Home Foster Mom   Northumberland, Pa. 17857Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet.
