Story
Meet Lainey! As of 10/19/26, Lainey has spent 111 days in our care, earning her place as one of Rockwall Adoption Center's Diamond Dogs. This sweet girl has been waiting far too long for someone to see just how special she is. Lainey's story has not been an easy one. She was surrendered when her previous owner was no longer able to care for her, and now this approximately 2 year old Husky mix weighing around 45 pounds is ready for a fresh start with a family who will give her the patience and security she deserves. Lainey can be shy when she first meets someone, but underneath that uncertainty is a very sweet girl who begins to shine once she feels safe. She is still learning how to navigate the world with confidence and would do best with an experienced dog owner who can provide consistency, structure, guidance, and plenty of positive reinforcement as she continues learning how to simply be a dog. Continued leash training will help Lainey build confidence and become the best version of herself. She does well with other dogs and cats but has not lived with children. If you currently have another pet in the home, a meet and greet is recommended prior to adoption to help ensure everyone is a good match. Lainey is spayed, microchipped, current on her basic annual boosters, and heartworm negative. As a Diamond Dog, Lainey's adoption fee is $75. Ninety days is a long time to wait for a home. Lainey may need a little extra patience in the beginning, but for the person willing to give her that chance, she has so much love and potential waiting to come out. If you are ready to give Lainey the time, patience, and care she deserves, please submit an adoption application today at https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/. Please share Lainey and help us make sure she does not spend another 90 days waiting. All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. October 30, 2026, 4:12 am
