Story
Meet Penny – A Sweet, Gentle Girl with a Calm Personality Hi there! My name is Penny, and I'm a 1-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix weighing around 33 lbs. I came to Rockwall Adoption Center when my previous family had too many animals to care for, and now I'm looking for a loving home where I can continue to build confidence and settle into family life. I'm a very sweet, gentle girl who does well with other dogs and enjoys their company. With people, I'm calm and polite. You can walk right up to me and pet me, and I'll happily accept it—I just don't jump up or get overly excited about attention. I'm more of a quiet, easygoing type who shows affection in soft, subtle ways rather than big, bouncy ones. I am 100% crate trained and find comfort in having my own cozy space. I'm still learning how to walk confidently on a leash and could use help building overall confidence, but I'm eager to learn and will do best with a family who offers encouragement and consistency. My adoption fee is $125. I am spayed, microchipped, current on my rabies and core vaccines, and heartworm negative. If you're looking for a gentle, well-mannered companion who will quietly become a loyal part of your life, Penny could be the perfect match. Apply to meet Penny here: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ Once approved, RAC staff will reach out to coordinate a meet and greet. This sweet girl is ready for her forever home. All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. January 17, 2026, 3:44 pm
