Story
Age: 3 years Weight: 40 lbs Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Good with kids: Unknown Activity level: High Shedding Level: High Training: Basic, Leash Skylar is a gorgeous husky/shepherd mix with striking blue eyes. He is about 3 years old. Skylar had been injured during his time on the streets and had TPLO surgery on his leg last year. He has since recovered nicely. He absolutely loves to run and play! He likes to try to be in charge, but takes correction well. He loves to play with other dogs and get out his energy. He gets nervous with quick movements and takes a minute to adjust to new people and situations. With a little patience and plenty of treats he will warm right up and ask for pets. Once he is comfortable, he loves pets, giving kisses, and cuddling! He will even gently reach over and pull your hand back with his paw if you stop petting him before he is ready.  Skylar finished his training on basic obedience commands and socialization and is ready for a foster or forever home! Does Skylar sound like your kind of guy? Email placement@duckteam6.org or visit our website to fill out an application.May 27, 2026, 12:17 am

Story
Shorty is a 3â€Âׂ-year-old Siberian Husky with a story of resilience and quiet strength. Weighing about 55 pounds, he is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and has completed treatment for heartworms. For nearly two years, Shorty survived alongside a small pack of dogs at a local Walmart—each of them now safe and adopted. Now it’s his turn to find a place to call home. Unlike the typical husky, Shorty is more reserved and low-key. He isn’t especially vocal or high-energy, and he tends to be shy in new environments. But give him time, patience, and a few treats, and you’ll see his gentle personality begin to shine. He forms bonds slowly, but meaningfully, and will thrive with someone who understands that trust is built over time. Shorty is looking for a husky-savvy, experienced adopter who can provide a calm, stable environment. Life on the streets left him with both physical and emotional scars. He has healed from multiple serious injuries, including fractures in his front left leg, back left leg, and C7 spine, likely from high-impact trauma, as well as a gunshot wound to his front left leg. Because of this, he will need pain medication as needed for the rest of his life. Despite everything he’s been through, Shorty remains incredibly gentle. He is dog-friendly and enjoys the company of other dogs, though true to his breed, he would prefer a cat-free home. He is also leash trained, potty trained, and crate trained—ready to settle into a routine with the right person. Shorty’s journey hasn’t been easy, but he’s ready for a fresh start. With patience, understanding, and love, he will be a deeply loyal and rewarding companion. This pet is participating in the Dallas Pets Alive rehoming program. Story
Meet Belka — A Beautiful Spirit Full of Life Belka is a stunning, all-white Siberian Husky with a playful personality and a heart full of energy. At just 1 year old and about 65 pounds, she’s in her prime—strong, curious, and always ready for her next adventure. With her bright eyes and soft white coat, she turns heads wherever she goes. We adopted Belka from a shelter just eight months ago, and she has brought so much joy into our lives. She is up to date on all her vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed—healthy and ready for her forever home. Belka is an energetic and playful companion who thrives in an active environment. She absolutely loves playing fetch, going on long walks around the neighborhood, and splashing in water whenever she gets the chance. She would do best with a family or individual who can give her plenty of exercise, attention, and space to run. Belka enjoys being around people and bonds closely with those who spend time with her. She doesn’t always get along with cats, so a cat-free home is preferred. Her ideal home would be one where she can stay active, engaged, and loved. Belka is crate trained and leash trained, making her a great companion for structured routines, though she does prefer being outdoors where she can explore and stretch her legs. She is smart, eager, and still young—so continued guidance and consistency will help her grow into an even more incredible dog. Due to an upcoming move, we are unfortunately no longer able to give Belka the space and lifestyle she needs—this decision is not a reflection of her, but simply our situation. Belka is a loyal, joyful, and beautiful companion who just needs the right home to truly thrive. Apply to adopt Belka today! This pet is participating in the Dallas Pets Alive rehoming program.
