Story
Handsome Benny is ready to be the apple of your eye! This lean, leggy ladies man with the cute curly Q tail is ready to win you over with his charming nature. He is a happy and friendly goober but definitely still a young boy in need of stimulation and interaction. If we are being flat-out honest...he's something of a derp right now. He has done well with other dogs who accept his derpy young boy behavior. Benny is a bit too clever if left outside alone, so needs a tall, solid fence or to enjoy romps and adventures on leash. He also can't resist chasing cats.   ~  Est DOB:  May 2022~  Intake weight:  49# ~  Adoption details:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlJuly 23, 2024, 11:58 am

Story
Juno is an overgrown puppy!  He has that wide-open loves everything attitude. 'Everything' includes people and treats and play - tug and fetch are his very favorites. Once he's got his energy out, he is ready to focus on learning new things. He thinks new things are pretty amazing! In case you couldn't tell, Juno is pretty excitable. Be ready to have fun burning off some energy with this fellow. You can also have great conversations with him, he loves to share his opinion. Junior is too much for other dogs and small children. He also needs a solid fence.   ~  Est DOB: Oct 2021 ~  Intake weight:  60# ~  Adoption details:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlJuly 23, 2024, 11:58 am

Story
Gorgeous, freckly Daphne really speaks to you through her pretty dichromatic eyes. What is she saying? Let's play! She likes toys but loves squeaky balls the best of all. She's a springy girl who can clear a shorter fence, so the tall and solid variety is best. Daphne needs to interview any dog friends to see if they are her type. ~  Est DOB:  Mar 2023 ~  Intake weight:  56#  ~  Adoption details/application:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlJuly 23, 2024, 11:58 am

Story
Makita is a sweet 8 year old husky. I have had her since she was a pup, but unfortunately she does not like small children. With a 2 year old one twin baby boys, I can no longer keep her. She would do best in a single dog home. Huskies have a lot of energy, and she enjoys a back yard where she can run around.

Story
🖤SHILOH🐾 Gentle, handsome, senior husky 🐕 After years of neglect, he’s safe in rescue & getting the care he deserves. We were told that he formally belonged to a neighbor who used to keep him on a chain and never let him in. But recently he had let him go and said he did not want him anymore. Probably because, Shiloh had a tumor growing on his underside and he did not want to be responsible. He has finished his antibiotics and steroids, and the tumor has been removed. The good news is …. It isn’t cancerous!!! And his heart and lungs, and all other x-rays were clear 🖤 True to his breed, he is vocal and full of adorable personality. He greets every human with a soft “awoooo” and lots of cuteness😍 Good with other dogs, but doesn’t need any in his forever home. He’s a bit of a loner. 🤣 In search of a yard to sunbathe in, snacks & pets from people that love him, and the opportunity to live out his golden years how he deserves 💕 If you’re interested in adopting a settled, senior boy, please consider welcoming Shiloh into your home! If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel.
