Meet Jade, the most outgoing and friendly pup from mama Crystal’s litter of seven. Jade climbs into your lap the first chance she gets and soaks up all the attention. She can never get enough! Mama Crystal was rescued right before she gave birth, and her puppies were born into a loving home on June 20. Their outgoing, loving personalities reflect a charmed life thus far. They are nine weeks old as of August 22. Breed results for Jade’s sister Sapphire show that these pups are likely a mix of 16 different breeds. The three top breeds are Great Pyrenees (28%), Husky (18%) and Mountain Cur (10%). (See the photos for the complete results.) Jade weighed 9 pounds at eight weeks old, which puts her on track to be about 50-60 lbs. when full grown. Jade is just a pleasure to be around. She’s a little spunky, but very charming. When you’re holding her, you can feel her tail rapidly wagging. She always seems so happy. She loves to snuggle and is obsessed with belly rubs, but she also adores playing with all the dogs in her foster home. She has never met a stranger, whether it’s a dog, a human or a cat. She rides great in the car and doesn’t get carsick. She is fearless 99% of the time. The only thing that has ruffled her feathers is bath time, but she will walk through the water of a kiddie pool! Meet Crystal, a young mama dog who is wise beyond her one year of life. Crystal is quiet, calm and very respectful of everything around her, including the cats in her foster home. Crystal is a Great Pyrenees, Husky, Mountain Cur, Chihuahua mix who weighs just 47 lbs at a little over a year old. Crystal recently raised her seven puppies and was the sweetest mama dog. Her days of having accidental litters are now over and she’s looking for a quiet home where she can relax and enjoy the good life. Crystal is very calm and can present as a little shy, but she will warm up quickly. She has done great meeting new people, including kids. She is super calm on a leash and very easy to walk. She follows your lead. She’s also incredibly good with cats and other dogs. She can be playful but she is not high energy. She’s crate trained and potty trained. Crystal would love a fenced-in yard in her future forever home. She loves to be outside and does have a little bit of that Great Pyrenees wandering spirit. We think she would be a great walking partner as well, and she’s truly incredible on a leash. Crystal does love other dogs and could benefit from a doggy sibling in the home, but she could thrive as an only dog in the right setting. Crystal is easy and easygoing, and she will adapt quickly to the new home that awaits her. Story
Meet Bavo — a gentle-giant puppy who would be the perfect family dog! Bavo is a super people-oriented pup who adores all people — including children. Put him in a room full of dogs and one person, and he will go straight for the person, even if he’s never met them before. He loves to snuggle up real close, give kisses and then roll over for belly rubs. Bavo and his six siblings were born at the end of January and found their way to a loving foster home at one week old. They were handled and loved by humans since they were tiny pups and that shows in their extra-loving dispositions today. Bavo truly has those lazy big-dog vibes already and he’s not even five months old yet. He was approaching 30 pounds at 14 weeks old on May 7, which puts him on track to be a very large dog. He may be very friendly, but he is also calm and gentle. He tires out easily and will find a cool spot to relax after a play session with his puppy friends. Take him on a walk and he will be ready for a nice long nap. He’s well on his way to being a couch potato! We’ve labeled Bavo as a German Shepherd mix. His sibling’s DNA test came back 58% German Shepherd. Bavo is fully potty trained and working on crate training and walking on a leash. He’s very intelligent, treat motivated and eager to please his human. Bavo and his sister Gretel are the last of a litter of seven. The other siblings are getting rave reviews in their new forever homes. They’ve done well in homes with others dogs and in homes with small children. We hope two more forever homes will come along soon for these very deserving and loving puppies.
