Story
Oreo (A141885) is a 3-year-old AK Husky who weighed 45 pounds on intake! 04/30/26 This energetic gal is Oreo! Oreo was surrendered to the shelter because her owner had too many dogs to care for. They felt she would do well with a rec team and could even lead or trail lead. She is used to living outside in a dog yard and will need help adjusting to being inside if you choose to do so. A reminder that she is not housebroken and is a very active dog. Oreo was described as having an outgoing and friendly demeanor but does like to jump up on people (even children). If you have small kiddos at home, this is something to keep in mind. Oreo was said to get along well with other dogs but has no history with smaller critters. However, her surrendering owner suspected she would chase after smaller animals (like most huskies do). Oreo was known to chew, so providing her with appropriate chews is also important. She is quite the character and would love to find her new active home. If you are interested in meeting Oreo, please let us know! May 15, 2026, 11:46 pm

Story
Mac (A141892) is a 5-year-old AK Husky who weighed 53.1 pounds on intake! 04/30/26 This handsome wild child is Mac! Mac comes from a dog yard and is looking for his new place to call home. He has the reputation of being rambunctious and not always minding the best. He is looking for a home that can keep him both mentally and physically stimulated. He would love to find a new team to run with! Mac was said to be selective when it came to interacting with other male dogs, so this is something to keep in mind. He was said to do well with female dogs and even livestock. Appropriate introductions are important! Mac has no experience with children but was said to do well with strangers and adults and was described as having an outgoing and friendly personality! He was strictly an outdoor dog, so he is not housebroken or used to indoor living. If you plan on bringing him inside, please be patient with him! If you feel like Mac to join your team and you are interested in meeting him, please let us know! May 15, 2026, 11:46 pm

Story
Hermes (A141284) is a 4-year-old husky x hound mix who weighed nearly 70 lbs at intake!02/28/26 This tall handsome guy is Hermes! Hermes was surrendered to the shelter because he was not getting along with the other dog in the home. He is looking for a home that will allow him to be the only dog. Hermes was said to do well with babies and kids and was described as being friendly, affectionate and sometimes shy. He has been known to dig and chew, but he was said to ride well in the car. It is unclear if Hermes is kennel trained or housebroken, but he was said to stand by the door when he needs to go out. Hermes is a very tall dog, and he has been known to jump on people and counters. While at the shelter, we have noticed Hermes can be nervous in new situations. If you are willing to be patient and calm with him, he does warm up and become quite affectionate! If you are interested in meeting Hermes, give us a call!May 15, 2026, 11:46 pm

Story
Bandit (A141752) is a 1-year-old husky mix who weighed almost 60 lbs at intake!4/25/26 Medical Update: Bandit the tripod had surgery to remove the rest of his amputated leg however you wouldn't know he was missing anything. Due to him already being a tripod prior to the full removal of the leg he has no issues moving around. He is looking for a loving home who understands missing a leg doesn't mean lacking in his ability to give love!04/18/26 This handsome guy is Bandit! Bandit was brought to the shelter because he needs help with his house manners. Bandit is not a fan of kennels, and he has repeatedly tried to break out of them. It would be best for his next home to invest in an impact kennel, such a Gunnar or Ruffland. It would also be a great idea to consult with a certified trainer on how to best approach training with Bandit. Bandit loves belly rubs and ear scratches. He has lost one foot to a previous injury and had to have it amputated prior to his arrival at the shelter. He does not let this slow him down though. Bandit has no idea that he is a tripod! He is mostly housebroken, and keeping him on a routine will help him master it. He was said to do well with every human and animal he meets. He loves to play with other dogs and cats, and he loves to snuggle with kids. He can be shy around strangers, but he was said to generally do well them. Bandit has been known to chew and dig, and he is young dog with a lot of energy. Providing him with plenty of appropriate chew toys and enrichment can help with these natural dog behaviors. We would also recommend keeping the trash out of his reach, as he has been known to get into it. He was said to do well riding in the car though! If you are interested in meeting Mister Bandit, please give us a call!May 15, 2026, 11:46 pm

Story
Chewy (A141750) is a 5-year-old AK Husky who weighed 53 pounds on intake! 04/16/26 This lover boy is Chewy! Chewy was surrendered to the shelter with his friend Tequila! These kiddos have been living the outdoor sled dog life. They are used to living on a doghouse, so if you plan on transitioning them indoors, keep in mind they will need help with all the basics. However, they may be keen to learn! They have previously run a dog team, but their surrendering owner felt they may enjoy being on a smaller rec team or even becoming your skijor buddy. They are an active breed, so they will need continued mental and physical stimulation. Both Tequila and Chewy were said to do well with children, strangers, and adults. They also have historically done well with other dogs and livestock. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with all new people and other animals. If you are interested in meeting Chewy, please let us know! May 15, 2026, 11:46 pm
