2.5 year old Husky cross Palomo is looking for his perfect home. Palomo has had a hard start in life – wandering with his mum and siblings as a puppy to survive on food scraps, then survived a hurricane and now awaits a real life from the SPCA PV sanctuary. Palomo is a stunning boy who would like a home with outdoor space as he hasn’t been a city dog – though he walks past cars and trucks and even cows without much fuss. Palomo is playful but selective about his dog friends, and visits cats regularly (sometimes with a bit of zeal). He likes cuddles (though doesn’t always want to be rushed by strangers). He is a smart boy who we’d love to see wandering or running free in a big Canadian space! Palomo weighs 50lbs, is neutered, healthy and vaccinated. 2.5 year old Husky cross Chiquita is looking for her perfect home. Chiquita has had a hard start in life – wandering with her mum and siblings as a puppy to survive on food scraps, then survived a hurricane and now awaits a real life from the SPCA PV sanctuary. Chiquita is one of the most stunning dogs in the sanctuary, with her unique colouring and caramel eyes. She leans in for snuggles, and falls at your feet for belly rubs with guests to the sanctuary trying to get a taste for real life with someone who loves her as their own. Chiquita is playful and enjoys time with the puppies to feed off their youth. She can be selective with certain dogs, which is common for a girl of her age and we think she’d love a home all to herself. We would love to see her enjoying outdoor space in a cooler climate (Mexico is a pretty hot spot for a husky cross!). Chiquita happily visits regularly with cats – at times a bit excited around them. As she’s spent her early life in sanctuary she’s hasn’t had exposure to kids or big crowds. As a bigger girl, we’d love to see her land somewhere outside the big city. Ready for his flight home to Vancouver 🇨🇦 Background: Beautiful Saenan was rescued from a city pound in Sangju, Korea, last winter. Since then, he’s been living safely at our partner boarding house, sharing his days with other rescue dogs. Personality & Socialization: Saenan is a happy, bright boy with a big heart. He loves to play with other dogs. Especially those who enjoy running and chasing just like him. Being a Husky, he’s full of energy and joy, and outdoor playtime is truly his favorite part of the day. When it comes to other dogs, Saenan has been very sociable and well-mannered. He spends most of his time with dogs around his size, and he’s always comfortable and loving in their company. He gets along easily and enjoys being part of the group. Saenan is also very affectionate and friendly with people, men, women, and even new faces. He warms up quickly to anyone who shows him kindness and loves being close to his humans. Behaviours: Saenan has been an easygoing dog since joining our adoption program. He rides well in the car, does fine during baths and vet visits, and follows his human’s lead nicely. He does not howl. We have never heard him howl. He enjoys a calm, happy routine and a peaceful home environment. After his outdoor play sessions, he relaxes quietly and enjoys cuddling or resting beside his friends. Saenan walks well on leash and hasn’t shown destructive behaviors. Health & Diet: When rescued, Saenan was treated for heartworm and has made a full recovery. He is now healthy, happy, and ready for his forever home. He’s neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and on monthly parasite prevention. He eats dry food twice a day and has shown no allergies. Ideal Home: Saenan would do best with someone familiar with the Husky breed. Ideally, a family who understands their energy and exercise needs. He would love a home with another friendly, playful dog around his size to keep him company and share his adventures. An active person or family who enjoys outdoor activities would be a perfect match for him. Saenan is very loyal, smart, and loving, whoever welcomes him home will be very lucky to have such a faithful companion. I’m Blue, and I’m a curious, bright-eyed Husky with a big heart and even bigger love for the world around me. Every walk feels like an adventure—every scent, every sound is something new to explore. I get so excited, like I’m discovering the world for the first time! When I meet people, I can’t help but walk right up and sniff their faces, just to say, “Hi! Who are you?” People always smile when I do that—maybe it’s the way I tilt my head or my wagging tail that makes them laugh. I get along pretty well with other dogs, too! I do sometimes forget how strong or energetic I can be, especially around smaller pups. I think I’m the same size as them, so I play a little rough without meaning to. If I’m with little friends, I’ll just need someone to help me play more gently. I'm learning! Oh—and being a Husky, I have that classic husky voice… yep, I howl sometimes. When I feel lonely or miss my people, I might sing a little to let you know. So I’d do best in a home where I’m not left alone too often. I really do love being near my humans. I’ve been through a tough start—abandoned alone in a basement—but I’ve never let that stop me from trusting or loving people. I still believe in the goodness of humans, and I’m ready to give all my love to the right family.
