2.5 year old Husky cross Palomo is looking for his perfect home. Palomo has had a hard start in life – wandering with his mum and siblings as a puppy to survive on food scraps, then survived a hurricane and now awaits a real life from the SPCA PV sanctuary. Palomo is a stunning boy who would like a home with outdoor space as he hasn’t been a city dog – though he walks past cars and trucks and even cows without much fuss. Palomo is playful but selective about his dog friends, and visits cats regularly (sometimes with a bit of zeal). He likes cuddles (though doesn’t always want to be rushed by strangers). He is a smart boy who we’d love to see wandering or running free in a big Canadian space! Palomo weighs 50lbs, is neutered, healthy and vaccinated. 2.5 year old Husky cross Chiquita is looking for her perfect home. Chiquita has had a hard start in life – wandering with her mum and siblings as a puppy to survive on food scraps, then survived a hurricane and now awaits a real life from the SPCA PV sanctuary. Chiquita is one of the most stunning dogs in the sanctuary, with her unique colouring and caramel eyes. She leans in for snuggles, and falls at your feet for belly rubs with guests to the sanctuary trying to get a taste for real life with someone who loves her as their own. Chiquita is playful and enjoys time with the puppies to feed off their youth. She can be selective with certain dogs, which is common for a girl of her age and we think she’d love a home all to herself. We would love to see her enjoying outdoor space in a cooler climate (Mexico is a pretty hot spot for a husky cross!). Chiquita happily visits regularly with cats – at times a bit excited around them. As she’s spent her early life in sanctuary she’s hasn’t had exposure to kids or big crowds. As a bigger girl, we’d love to see her land somewhere outside the big city. Meet Billy 🩵Billy initially came into care after his family was no longer able to look after him. He is a young dog filled with a lot of energy, affection and personality. He is still learning the basics, so some gentle training and leash training will go a long way for him. His husky roots seem to kick in when he sees small critters, so a home without any cats or small animals would be best for him! Billy has a bright spirit and enjoys being around people. He loves joining in on whatever you are doing, whether it is playing in the yard or settling in for a quiet snuggle. This sweet guy loves to chase toys and will often bring them right back for another round of fetch. When given the chance, Billy will try and escape his leash, so some patience will be needed in getting him comfortable with that moving forward. He would thrive in a home that can offer a good mix of activity, positive-reinforcement training, structure and affection. He loves long walks and runs, so an active home is best! Meet Stella! Stella is a sweet, affectionate dog who absolutely loves socializing with people. She wants to be part of everything her humans do and will happily show her appreciation with her signature nose-bump of gratitude. She can get very excited when meeting new people & dogs, so slow introductions help her put her best paw forward.Inside the home, Stella is calm, chill, and a wonderful companion. She's happy to snuggle with you on the couch, chew on her toys or treats, or work on a treat puzzle. She's not much of a barker, but she will let you know if an unfamiliar visitor arrives.Stella is a smart girl who already knows sit, lay down, and stay, and she's currently working on improving her recall. She loves car rides, daily walks, and especially long hikes in the woods. Stella has plenty of energy outdoors and would really benefit from a fenced yard where she can run, play, and burn off that enthusiasm. She thrives with daily exercise and mental stimulation.Stella wants to be included in everything, but her excitement and energy can sometimes be a bit much for very small toddlers, so she may do best in a home with older children or adults. She also appears to have a strong prey drive, so a home without cats would be best for her safety and theirs.She is in an awesome foster home awaiting adoption and this what they noticed with Stella girl:-loves socializing with people and dogs.
