Story
2.5 year old Husky cross Palomo is looking for his perfect home. Palomo has had a hard start in life – wandering with his mum and siblings as a puppy to survive on food scraps, then survived a hurricane and now awaits a real life from the SPCA PV sanctuary. Palomo is a stunning boy who would like a home with outdoor space as he hasn’t been a city dog – though he walks past cars and trucks and even cows without much fuss. Palomo is playful but selective about his dog friends, and visits cats regularly (sometimes with a bit of zeal). He likes cuddles (though doesn’t always want to be rushed by strangers). He is a smart boy who we’d love to see wandering or running free in a big Canadian space! Palomo weighs 50lbs, is neutered, healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be his chance at a family, or foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Please check your junk mail for our response.

Story
2.5 year old Husky cross Chiquita is looking for her perfect home. Chiquita has had a hard start in life – wandering with her mum and siblings as a puppy to survive on food scraps, then survived a hurricane and now awaits a real life from the SPCA PV sanctuary. Chiquita is one of the most stunning dogs in the sanctuary, with her unique colouring and caramel eyes. She leans in for snuggles, and falls at your feet for belly rubs with guests to the sanctuary trying to get a taste for real life with someone who loves her as their own. Chiquita is playful and enjoys time with the puppies to feed off their youth. She can be selective with certain dogs, which is common for a girl of her age and we think she’d love a home all to herself. We would love to see her enjoying outdoor space in a cooler climate (Mexico is a pretty hot spot for a husky cross!). Chiquita happily visits regularly with cats – at times a bit excited around them. As she’s spent her early life in sanctuary she’s hasn’t had exposure to kids or big crowds. As a bigger girl, we’d love to see her land somewhere outside the big city. Chiquita weighs 55lbs, is spayed, healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her chance at a family, or foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Story
Meet Tiffany a sweet, shy, and beautiful girl with a heart full of love. After a rough start to life and some time away from the centre, this gentle pup has shown remarkable resilience as she learns to navigate the world with fresh eyes.Tiffany is looking for a very specific type of home that will help her thrive; namely a consistent routine, continuous access to a securely fenced yard, and a commitment to 'fear free' training. Tiffany can initially be shy with people she is unfamiliar with, and will often shy away from quick movements or loud noises. Once she's had some time to get to know you, she really enjoys pets, scratches, and snuggles! Yummy treats or a fun play session is often the first step in earning that trust! She particularly loves to rip around with her squeaky toys and will happily show off her zoomies! While a comfortable home environment is always number one, we've seen Tiffany tend to prefer constant access to outdoors to help her feel more secure. Lying in the sun, taking a dip in a kiddie pool, or playing with toys on the soft grass often trumps being kept inside for her - especially on these nicer days. If you are looking for a sweet, loving dog, and have a peaceful home to allow for Tiffany to thrive in her own time, we encourage you to chat with a team member or apply online!Because of Tiffany's shy nature, an online or in person application will be required prior to a meet and greet: https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 24.7 Age: 4yrs 2mths 1wks

Story
Rhubarb or Rhu for short is a small, fluffy girl with a huge personality and an even bigger heart. She's everything people love about the breed-expressive, clever, affectionate, and always ready to "chat" about her day. Her signature husky storytelling is one of her most endearing traits, and she'll happily keep you entertained with her opinions and commentary. She adores her people and wants nothing more than to be the center of someone's world. Rhubarb is looking for a home where she can be the queen of the household, soaking up all the love without having to share space with other animals. Her ideal family understands the busy, energetic nature of a husky and is excited to give her the mental and physical stimulation she thrives on. With the right mix of activity, enrichment, and companionship, she settles in beautifully for a peaceful night's sleep.A secure fenced yard is a must for this adventurous girl-she loves to explore, stretch her legs, and burn off her boundless energy safely. We do want to highlight the word "secure" as this girl is skilled at finding where she can break free to go say hi to the neighbours. Even though I'm sure everyone loves saying hello to this happy girl, it is important to ensure she is safe in a secure yard. If you feel Rhubarb may be a good fit for your home, please complete our online application and staff will contact you to discuss further if it is a good fit. Please follow these steps if interested in adoption!1. View the animal's profile at adopt.spca.bc.ca 2. Submit an application - https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/3. If it's a match, staff will contact you to set up an appointment for a meet & greet. PLEASE NOTE: This cat is located on the Sunshine Coast and travel via BC Ferries is required to adopt. Appointments are preferred to adopt one of our animals. Primary Color: Red Secondary Color: White Weight: 19.6 Age: 6yrs 3mths 4wks

He lived with other dogs at our partner boarding house until he left Korea. Currently, he lives in a foster home in Surrey, BC.Personality & SocializationSaenan has a medium to high energy level, but he is not overly hyper. He carries a happy and balanced kind of energy that makes him a really easy companion to live with. He loves being outside, whether it is going for walks, getting fresh air, or simply lying in the sun and relaxing. When it comes to other dogs, Saenan has been very sociable and well-mannered. He spends most of his time with dogs around his size, and he’s always comfortable and loving in their company. He gets along easily and enjoys being part of the group.Saenan is also very affectionate and friendly with people, men, women, and even new faces. He warms up quickly to anyone who shows him kindness and loves being close to his humans.BehavioursSaenan has been an easygoing dog since joining our adoption program. He rides well in the car, does fine during baths and vet visits, and follows his human’s lead nicely. He has recently discovered the joy of playing with toys, and it is adorable to watch. Seeing him pick up a toy and happily entertain himself is such a sweet moment. He plays with a gentle, curious excitement that really shows his playful and innocent side.He enjoys a calm, happy routine and a peaceful home environment. After his outdoor play sessions, he relaxes quietly and enjoys cuddling or resting beside his friends. Saenan walks well on leash and hasn’t shown destructive behaviors.Health & DietWhen rescued, Saenan was treated for heartworm and has made a full recovery. He is now healthy, happy, and ready for his forever home. He’s neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and on monthly parasite prevention. He eats dry food twice a day and has shown no allergies.Ideal HomeSeanan would do best with someone familiar with the breed or at least experienced with large dogs. Compared to other Huskies, he has a more mellow and easygoing personality and does not require as much exercise. He would enjoy a home with another friendly large dog, as he likes being around other dogs. However, he would also be perfectly happy as the only dog in a home that enjoys walks and spending time outdoors with him. Seanan is very smart, loyal, and loving. He will be a devoted and wonderful companion.**Note: Currently, Saenan is in a foster home in Surrey, BC.For more info about the dog, or the adoption application, please click this link.
