Story
Kona is a sweet, eager-hearted dog who's finally getting the opportunity he's always deserved. After spending his life living outdoors on a line, he's discovering the comforts of indoor living for the very first time - soft beds, warm rooms, gentle hands, and the feeling of truly belonging. Every day is a new adventure for him, and he greets it with curiosity and hope.Because Kona is still learning about the world and how to navigate it with confidence, he's looking for a calm, patient home where he can settle in at his own pace. We're still getting to know how he feels about other animals, so a home without young children or other pets would be the best fit while he continues to grow and learn. What Kona wants most is simple: love, stability, and someone who believes in him. He's incredibly motivated to learn and thrives with positive, AnimalKind training, where he shines. With the right support, Kona is ready to become the best dog he can possibly be.If you're looking for a loyal companion who's ready to start fresh and build a beautiful life by your side, Kona may be the perfect match. He's waiting for the family who will show him what it means to be loved forever. Kona is still waiting for his neuter surgery, so will need a family that is able to bring him back for his scheduled date! Story
2.5 year old Husky cross Palomo is looking for his perfect home. Palomo has had a hard start in life – wandering with his mum and siblings as a puppy to survive on food scraps, then survived a hurricane and now awaits a real life from the SPCA PV sanctuary. Palomo is a stunning boy who would like a home with outdoor space as he hasn’t been a city dog – though he walks past cars and trucks and even cows without much fuss. Palomo is playful but selective about his dog friends, and visits cats regularly (sometimes with a bit of zeal). He likes cuddles (though doesn’t always want to be rushed by strangers). He is a smart boy who we’d love to see wandering or running free in a big Canadian space! Palomo weighs 50lbs, is neutered, healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be his chance at a family, or foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Please check your junk mail for our response.

Story
2.5 year old Husky cross Chiquita is looking for her perfect home. Chiquita has had a hard start in life – wandering with her mum and siblings as a puppy to survive on food scraps, then survived a hurricane and now awaits a real life from the SPCA PV sanctuary. Chiquita is one of the most stunning dogs in the sanctuary, with her unique colouring and caramel eyes. She leans in for snuggles, and falls at your feet for belly rubs with guests to the sanctuary trying to get a taste for real life with someone who loves her as their own. Chiquita is playful and enjoys time with the puppies to feed off their youth. She can be selective with certain dogs, which is common for a girl of her age and we think she’d love a home all to herself. We would love to see her enjoying outdoor space in a cooler climate (Mexico is a pretty hot spot for a husky cross!). Chiquita happily visits regularly with cats – at times a bit excited around them. As she’s spent her early life in sanctuary she’s hasn’t had exposure to kids or big crowds. As a bigger girl, we’d love to see her land somewhere outside the big city. Chiquita weighs 55lbs, is spayed, healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her chance at a family, or foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Story
Meet Bailey!Bailey is a young, energetic Husky-Shepherd mix (with a bit of mystery sprinkled in) who's ready for an active home that can help her reach her full potential. She's a sweet, people-loving girl with a big personality and an even bigger voice!Personality & TemperamentBailey is true to her Husky roots-curious, independent, and always following her nose. She can be a little aloof at times, but she warms up quickly and loves attention from people. She's playful, bright, and eager for adventure.Training & BehaviorBailey currently has no formal training and will need an adopter committed to helping her learn good manners and structure. She's very strong on leash and requires continued work on recall. With consistency (and maybe some tasty treats), she has great potential.Good With...Dogs: Seems comfortable around other friendly dogs given proper introductionCats/Small Animals: very excitable strong prey drive cannot go in a home with cats!People: Very friendly!Ideal HomeBailey is not a match for first-time dog owners or homes with young children-she'll thrive with someone experienced, patient, and active. Because she has a loud bark/yelp and a healthy set of Husky vocals, she's not suited for apartments or condos. She's looking for a home that can offer space, training, exercise, and lots of love.If you're ready for a fun, spirited companion who will keep life interesting, Bailey may be the adventure buddy you've been waiting for!
