Story
Meet Kylo   Kylo is an 11-year-old Husky who came to us as an owner surrender from the Camarillo Shelter. He has the softest puppy face and the calm, soulful energy that only senior dogs have.   Kylo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and currently working through a few medical needs (with support from the rescue). He’s been incredibly patient and sweet through it all and would thrive in a quiet, loving home where he can enjoy his golden years comfortably.   He’s not asking for much—just a cozy bed, gentle walks, and someone willing to love a senior who still has so much heart to give.   Ventura County, CA Looking for a foster or forever home Medical support provided   If you’ve ever thought about opening your heart to a senior… Kylo is your guy.   ##2644343##

Breed: Husky X DOB: 12/2021 Gender: male Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: medium Color(s): black/white/tan Description:Hi, I'm Brecken, an adventure-seeking, treat-loving, and super-duper trained Siberian Husky X who is hoping to find my forever home. I sadly was abandoned in the scorching heat wearing a chain tied to a tree. Thankfully, I was found and rescued and taken home. I'm currently with my 15-year-old rescuer and his dad being well taken care of. Although I'm OK for a few hours alone, I'm not a fan of being left alone all day. Unfortunately, my rescue family is gone most of the day or they would keep me. I enjoy the company of humans and would do best in a very active family where I can get all the love and attention I deserve.I'm a total catch - I'm house and crate-trained, I've mastered the doggie door, and I know all the good boy commands. I'm a pro at 'sit', 'stay', and 'come', and I walk like a dream on a leash. I'm an active boy who loves going on walks, runs, and car rides. I'm always up for an adventure, especially if treats are involved! I'm a real people-pleaser and will do just about anything for a tasty reward. I'm also a pro at snuggling and will be the perfect companion for a family with children. I'm ready to leave my past behind and create wonderful memories as a cherished member of a loving family. Could your family be the perfect match for me? Please fill out an online application to meet me. January 22, 2026, 4:38 pm

Available to foster or adopt!Breed: Husky/Shepherd X DOB: 11/2018 Gender: male Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: large Color(s): white / charcoal Description: ***Needs a Foster Home*** This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application. Hi, I'm Ruger, a handsome Husky / Shepherd X in need of a new home as sadly my owner can no longer care for me due to medical reasons and having to move to an assisted living facility. I'm grateful to CARL for accepting me into their adoption program. I know they will help me find my forever home. I enjoy being with people, going on walks or going to the dog park. I'm sweet, lovable and very active. I love to cuddle, receive belly rubs and I think I'm a lap dog. I need a home with no cats and with a fence at least 6 feet tall. I'm choosy with other dogs, so if you have a fur baby in the home already, please bring him/her along so we can do a meet and greet. I'm very food protective around other dogs, so we'd have to be fed separately. I've lived my life with a retired adult, but I am great with children and adults. I'm used to sleeping on the bed with my owner or on the sofa. Hopefully you'll allow me to do the same. If you're interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application to meet me. *Thank you to Jean for sponsoring this wonderful dog at the Burnice Kraemer Sanctuary and giving him the chance for a better life. January 17, 2026, 6:36 pm

Available to foster or adopt!Breed: Chow X DOB: 4/2023 Gender: male Altered: yes Coat: long Size: medium Color(s): red Description:***Needs a Foster Home***This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application.Hi, I'm Dale, a handsome Chow X who was rescued from a shelter where I was found as a stray. I'm grateful to be given a chance to find my forever home. Although my shelter stay wasn't the best experience, I've been doing great at CARL's kennel facility.I'm good with other dogs and enjoy playgroup time at the kennel, but for unknown reasons there have been a some dogs I didn't care for, maybe they were just sending me the wrong vibes. If you have a fur baby in the home already, please bring him/her along so we can do a meet and greet. It's unknown at this time if I get along with other cats. I would probably not do well in a home with young children due to their unpredictability. Older children who know how to behave around a dog and are more predictable would probably be fine. A CARL volunteer said I needed a little time to warm up to new people when I first came to CARL, but now I'm more social. I'm sure it had to do with having been picked up as a stray and then being taken to a shelter where I didn't know what fate awaited me. The volunteer said I'm leash trained and nice looking too.I can't wait to find my forever home and be someone's loyal companion. Could that someone be you? Please fill out an online application to meet me.*Thank you to Sharon for sponsoring this wonderful dog at the Burnice Kraemer Sanctuary and giving him the chance for a better life.August 8, 2025, 12:03 am

Story
Breed: Chow DOB: 7/9/2022 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: long Size: medium Color(s): black Description:Hi, I'm Nellie!I'm an affectionate and loyal Chow looking for my forever home where I can truly thrive. I've come a long way—from being a fearful, under-socialized puppy to becoming a loving, curious girl who's eager to learn and please. Thanks to the patience and guidance of my foster mom, I've gained confidence and started to come out of my shell. While I'm still a little reserved around new people, I warm up with time and consistency—and once I do, I'll be your playful shadow, chasing lizards, tossing toys, and cuddling right by your side.I would do best in a home as the only dog. I don't do well with females, and I'm selective with males—I tend to get along best with calm, confident (alpha) males, and even then, I'd need a proper meet and greet to make sure we're a good fit. I've worked hard to find my balance, and I'd love a home where I can continue to grow with a strong, steady human who can provide structure, guidance, and lots of love.I'm crate-trained, potty-trained, and making great progress on leash walks with a gentle leader. I just need someone who's willing to continue working with me and help me keep building on the great progress I've made.If you're looking for a sweet, smart companion who's ready to bond deeply and be your loyal best friend, I just might be your girl. Please fill out an application as I can't wait to meet you!August 4, 2025, 2:10 pm
