Name: KimAge: 4 years oldRelationship Status: The perfect girl looking for her forever adventure partnerAbout Me:Hi there, I’m Kim — a 4-year-old husky/terrier mix with a huge heart, endless love to give, and enough personality to light up an entire ranch. Honestly? I’m pretty close to the perfect dog. I love every human I meet, adore every dog I come across, and truly thrive when I’m surrounded by friends, freedom, and fun.I’m happiest when I have space to roam, play, and enjoy life to the fullest. My dream home would be a ranch or large property where I can run around with my dog buddies, soak up the sunshine, and embrace my adventurous spirit every day.Life with me is never boring. I’m playful, goofy, affectionate, and always ready to make memories — whether that means zoomies in the yard, outdoor adventures, beach days, or curling up for cuddles at the end of the night. I’ve basically mastered the balance between energetic best friend and professional snuggle companion.I absolutely thrive around other dogs and would love a home where I can continue being social, active, and part of a pack. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who brings happiness everywhere she goes, I’m your girl. What I’m Looking For:A fun, loving home with lots of space, lots of love, and ideally plenty of dog friends to share life with. Bonus points if you enjoy adventures, laughter, and living life a little wild and free.If you think we’re meant to be, contact SPARC and ask to meet Kim.

Story
You know that dog everyone instantly falls in love with? That's Sunny! Sunny is a 6-year-old, 55 lb Husky/German Shepherd mix (who looks a bit like a Coyote!) She was originally adopted from the euthanasia list at the Bakersfield City Shelter. After years in a loving, stable home, her current owner now needs to find her a new home due to changes in their living situation. Sunny has a really sweet, loving personality. She’s the kind of dog who greets new people like they’ve always been friends. She is soft, friendly, and genuinely happy to be included. Sunny enjoys walks, toys, treats, and especially just being near her people. If you sit down, she’s likely to come over and lean in for attention or quietly settle beside you. She’s social and confident but not pushy either. Sunny gets along well with other dogs and has done well around cats too. She actually tends to help shy dogs come out of their shell feel more comfortable just by being herself. She’s good on leash, enjoys exploring, fetch, and has that classic Husky and Shepherd curiosity without being overly intense. She is still learning a few basics like indoor manners and potty training since she’s been used to living outdoors, but she’s food motivated and can be willing to learn. While she isn’t an escape artist, she is athletic and can clear a shorter fence if something catches her interest, so a secure yard is important to keep her safe. What stands out most about Sunny is how steady she feels. She’s friendly, resilient, and genuinely wants to be part of a home. Not a complicated dog, just one who wants love, routine, and people to belong to. Fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped, Sunny is looking for her forever home! ---- Looking to Adopt? Story
Chino is a good dog for the right home, but he has two flaws: he doesn't care to share an environment with any other dogs, and he can escape from almost any confinement. Since we like Border Collies in general, and since he was "overdue" at his animal shelter one day when we were there picking up another dog, he was also chosen and saved. We quickly learned that the part of Chino that is not Border Collie is probably one of the tundra breeds like Malamute, because we had to fully enclose every inch of his kennel to keep him in. (This was after he escaped from four previous attempts to kennel him.) The good news is that after escaping he only wanted to stay by the side of his human friends here at the rescue, so he'll need a pretty much constant human companion. Chino is about 3 years old and weighs about 80 pounds.
