Story
Meet Solomon: A Loyal, Snow-Loving Companion Ready for His Next Chapter 🐾 Facebook Family, meet Solomon—a 6½-year-old Tibetan Mastiff and Husky mix with a heart as big as his bark. He joined our family in late 2018 as a pup when my son and I moved back from Tanzania to Iowa. Through every transition, Solomon has been a loving emotional support companion. Now, with my son off to college and my long workdays + commute, Solomon is feeling lonely. This is a very hard decision because we love him dearly—but we know he deserves a home where he’ll get the time, attention, and love he thrives on. 🌟 What Makes Solomon Special: 🐶 Affectionate & Loyal – He’d be an 85-pound lap dog if you let him! 🗣️ Verbal Like a Husky – He’s expressive and loves to “talk.” ❄️ Loves Iowa Winters – Playing in the snow is his absolute favorite. 🧒 Great with Kids – Gentle, playful, and protective. 🎾 Playful Spirit – Loves walks, catch, and still gets the zoomies! 🛡️ Excellent Guard Dog – Keeps “stranger dan

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi! I am an energetic working boy who is looking for a home to call my own! I am around 6 years old and know all of my basic commands including, sit, lay down, and off. I would love to find a family with another dog and a fenced in yard. Please no children because I am still working on my manners, including how to greet young people and strangers appropriately. I am looking for an experienced dog owner, someone who is a strong handler and is looking for a lifelong companion that is smart and will be their #1 sidekick. I cannot wait to find my forever home!   Broly's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives PLUS an obedience course at Cedar Run in Hiawatha.  Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, be altered and current on vaccinations and preventatives.  Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a home visit and a vet check.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 6:20 pm

Story
If you’ve been looking for a dog who’s always ready to do something, Jude might be your perfect match.Jude is smart as a whip and loves to use that big Husky brain. He knows sit, come, potty, and shake, and he thrives when he’s part of the action. Put him in a yard with kids to play with or give him room to stretch his legs, and he’s in his element. This is a dog who truly enjoys being involved and having a purpose. He’s not your “watch TV for six hours straight” type. Jude is a let’s-go dog: walk, hike, run, play, repeat. He can walk for hours and miles at your pace, and he does so politely. He doesn’t pull, even when squirrels or rabbits show up. After a full day of activity, he’s happy to curl up next to you and rest like he earned it.Jude does great on car rides and is always ready for the next adventure. When it comes to grooming, he’ll politely decline a shower, but bring out a brush or nail trimmers and he becomes surprisingly cooperative. His only real nemesis in this world is the mop-and-broom duo. These “swishy monsters” make him nervous for reasons known only to Jude. While you clean, he’ll patiently step aside and wait for them to finish. If your life includes fresh air, movement, laughter, and a little Husky chaos paired with a very good boy, Jude is ready to be your sidekick every step of the way.

Story
Rocky is a handsome 2-year-old male Husky/Akita mix who is looking for his next forever home through no fault of his own—his previous family was moving and sadly couldn’t take him along. He has spent his entire life in a loving home, and we’d love to see him settled into another one as soon as possible. Rocky’s striking tri-color coat is quite unique for his breeds and makes him stand out in the best way. Paired with his fluffy, ultra-soft fur, he’s as beautiful as he is sweet. This fun-loving boy adores other dogs. In the yard, you’ll often find Rocky zooming around, happily playing chase with his canine friends. He gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes, genders, and breeds, and he’s especially good at inviting others to play—whether that’s with a playful nose nudge, a gentle leg nibble, or proudly waving a toy to get the game started. While Rocky may seem a bit aloof when you first meet him, don’t be fooled. True to his Husky and Akita roots, he has an independent side and may take a little extra time to fully warm up and build trust. Once he does, you’ll have a devoted companion for life who truly loves his people. He does wonderfully with children and enjoys being part of an active, affectionate household. Rocky is fully potty-trained and crate-trained, and—bonus!—he’s unusually quiet for a Husky. We’ve never heard a classic Husky scream or yowl from him. While he’s currently a bit too enthusiastic for most cats, we believe he could potentially live with one given proper introductions, guidance, and boundaries. Rocky would thrive in a home looking for a playful, social, and loyal companion. In return, he promises a lifetime of love, fun, and entertainment. If you’re ready for a joyful adventure with a truly special dog, Rocky just might be your perfect match.
