Story
Meet Solomon: A Loyal, Snow-Loving Companion Ready for His Next Chapter 🐾 Facebook Family, meet Solomon—a 6½-year-old Tibetan Mastiff and Husky mix with a heart as big as his bark. He joined our family in late 2018 as a pup when my son and I moved back from Tanzania to Iowa. Through every transition, Solomon has been a loving emotional support companion. Now, with my son off to college and my long workdays + commute, Solomon is feeling lonely. This is a very hard decision because we love him dearly—but we know he deserves a home where he’ll get the time, attention, and love he thrives on. 🌟 What Makes Solomon Special: 🐶 Affectionate & Loyal – He’d be an 85-pound lap dog if you let him! 🗣️ Verbal Like a Husky – He’s expressive and loves to “talk.” ❄️ Loves Iowa Winters – Playing in the snow is his absolute favorite. 🧒 Great with Kids – Gentle, playful, and protective. 🎾 Playful Spirit – Loves walks, catch, and still gets the zoomies! 🛡️ Excellent Guard Dog – Keeps “stranger dan

Story
Jude is a 4-year-old Husky with a heart full of hustle and a soul made for winter. If you’ve been dreaming of a dog who actually gets excited when the weather app screams “WINTER STORM WARNING,” this is your guy. He’s smart as a whip! He knows sit, come, potty, and shake, he loves to put that big Husky brain to work. Toss him into a backyard full of kids and fresh snow, and he becomes a living snow angel factory. This dog thrives on activity, adventure, and being part of the team.He isn’t your “watch TV for six hours straight” type. He’s your “let’s go do something” dog: walk, hike, run, play, repeat. Afterward though, this hardworking boy wants to curl up beside you and sleep like he earned his paycheck. For grooming, if you show him a shower he’ll politely decline your invitation, but bring out a brush or nail trimmers and he’s suddenly the picture of cooperationJude’s only real nemesis in this world is the mop-and-broom duo. They make him nervous for reasons known only to him. While you clean, he’ll happily step aside and wait for the “weird swishy monsters” to finish their business. If your days involve fresh air, activity, laughter, and a little bit of Husky chaos, Jude is ready to write that story with you.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi! I am an energetic working boy who is looking for a home to call my own! I am around 6 years old and know all of my basic commands including, sit, lay down, and off. I would love to find a family with another dog and a fenced in yard. Please no children because I am still working on my manners, including how to greet young people and strangers appropriately. I am looking for an experienced dog owner, someone who is a strong handler and is looking for a lifelong companion that is smart and will be their #1 sidekick. I cannot wait to find my forever home!   Broly's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives PLUS an obedience course at Cedar Run in Hiawatha.  Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, be altered and current on vaccinations and preventatives.  Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a home visit and a vet check.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 6:20 pm

Story
Skyla is a stunning 2-year-old Husky/German Shepherd mix who is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. With the classic colors of a Shepherd and the fluffy coat of a Husky, she turns heads wherever she goes. Skyla can be a little shy at first, but once she gets a sniff and a gentle pet, she warms up quickly and will happily show you her sweet, playful side. She enjoys toys and playtime, but in true Husky fashion she prefers it on her terms. Despite her spunky personality, she also loves to cuddle and often thinks she is a lap dog. She is a loyal “velcro pup” who wants to stick close to her people, making her a wonderful companion. Skyla gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playtime, as long as her furry friends respect her boundaries. Because of her natural prey drive, she would do best in a home without cats or small animals. Skyla is potty-trained, crate-trained, and knows her basics. She does well with children and would thrive in a loving home with people who understand and appreciate the unique traits of her breeds. With patience, affection, and guidance, Skyla will blossom into the perfect addition to a lucky family.
