Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Online Adoption Application!   Echo is at our high kill shelter, just waiting for someone to find him. His chances are slim, so KKC want to give him a boost. The little one is only 3.5 months old and has been in the shelter over half his life in a kennel with very little interaction. Echo really needs to have a foster or adopter to go with so he doesn’t have to return to his cage. He’s got the little man syndrome right now from being kenneled for a while. He pesters others significantly in group play. But when he went on his neuter day trip, he did very well with one of our Goldens. With proper transitioning, we feel he would learn to play well with his size or larger. Echo is currently 29 pounds and loves to be cuddeled. He is great with kids and does okay with cats around him. Echo just needs someone to give him a chance!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  If you are interested in meeting any of our babies, please complete an online application at https://kykittycats.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6024 If you don't see pictures on Petfinder, please go to our website to view at www.kykittycats.com and we always have a waiting list that hasn't been posted yet.  We are a super small, no kill rescue that is operating way above our capacity. We have taken in over 600 animals in 2024, and we desperately need good adopters, fosters, and sponsors to keep the doors open.  We operate solely on donations, and we are always looking for wonderful families to join our efforts. We have dozens of felines not posted and dozens more on our waiting list. No matter what type of setting you have, if you are looking to save a feline, we can find one for you to help. It typically it cost us $60-80 to fully vet a feline and $80-120 to vet a canine depending on size and health conditions and sex. Please visit and like our social media pages...  https://www.facebook.com/kykitties   https://instagram.com/kentuckykittycats?igshid=11qfoexi4imaf   and now we are on TIKTOK! Story
Kimbo is estimated 1 and half years old, he was rescued 8 months ago. He looking for a loving home with someone who has the time and patience to care for him. He is a giant ball of energy with lots of love to give. He enjoys chewing on his bones, playing fetch, tug of war, and running lots of running. He is a fairly big dog at 59 pounds. He can be unaware of his size so a home with no small children is a must. He is completely potty trained and knows the sit and wait command. He is not food or toy aggressive. Be aware he is a high energy breed and needs a lot of physical and mental stimulation. He is a timid dog who was possibly abused in his time before me. He can take some time to warm up but once he does he is the best boy. He does alright with other dogs, just again can take some time to warm up. He is more of a lone wolf so he would prefer to be the only animal but it is not a must.

Story
Axel’s Ready for His Forever Meet Axel, our 2-year-old husky mix with a heart full of hope and paws made for adventure. He’s spent most of his young life without a true place to call home—but that changes now. Axel is: Dog-friendly and loves a good play session Smart, trainable, and eager to learn (free training included thanks to the Pedigree Foundation!) House-trained and respectful indoors ‍&#226&#153&#130&#239&#184&#143 A climber and escape artist—classic husky energy! He’ll need a secure yard and someone who appreciates his zest for life. He’s not just looking for a home—he’s looking for a teammate. Someone who sees his potential, embraces his quirks, and gives him the stability he’s never had. If you’ve got a husky-proof fence and a heart ready to love, Axel’s waiting. Let’s give this boy the fresh start he deserves. Www.barktownrescue.org/adopt   AXEL'S ADOPTION FEE IS $175The shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the dog's predominant breed or breed mix. We strongly encourage you to select your new pet by looking at each dog's individual personality and pet qualities rather than relying on a breed label that is only our best guess.    Our adoption fees vary from $150 and up.  All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, heart worm preventives, and flea/tick medication, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Portions of your adoption fee also help care for the sick and injured animals that we take in.  Thank you for supporting us and considering a rescue dog!    September 17, 2025, 8:51 pm

He is very friendly and loves other dogs but cannot go to a home with cats. Please call 8126080552 for an appointment to meet Balto.

Story
Luna is a pretty girl looking for a forever home. She is a two-year-old beautiful husky. She is very sweet but a little on the timid side until she gets warmed up to you. She is spayed and current on all shots and preventions. I would prefer she go to a cooler northern environment. Luna gets along very well with others, she has the pack mentality. She is very loyal and loving. She loves to run and play with the others in her pack. She has not shown aggressive behaviors. She would do well with older children and other pets. Not so sure about cats. She is very, very smart. I would recommend her as a good family pet. Saved from a high-kill shelter by another rescue only to wind up in another shelter when that rescue left her in boarding in an Alabama warehouse for an extensive period. Please reach out if you are interested in this sweet girl!
